Knights have been a faction in the game for 3 editions. If an experienced player is still writing lists without taking the possibility of facing them into account, that's a them thing, not a "wrong kind of game" thing.

The mech bastards do tend to shape the meta in a way. They're existence tends to mean people are taking enough anti tank to deal with them so other, lighter vehicles have less of a place in the game which is a shame.

Politely disagree. Knights are an awkward fit for the game because (as a monofaction army) they're guaranteed to be a skew list. That doesn't stop being true just because they've existed for a while.

(That said, they are probably better integrated into the game now than they were in previous editions.)

That's true. When I daydream about smaller points games or ways I'd tweak 40k to support smaller game sizes, assuming that knights aren't invited is always a default assumption.

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

For some armies it isn't a case of writing a list in mind, but rather the problem that the list GW wrote for them as the only working one can't deal with 12 warhounds and an Abaddon. And it gets even worse if they play the not GW pre writen list.

Ah and, no I don't think that any type of knight list is overpowered. Not this seson.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.
