Politely disagree. Knights are an awkward fit for the game because (as a monofaction army) they're guaranteed to be a skew list. That doesn't stop being true just because they've existed for a while.
(That said, they are probably better integrated into the game now than they were in previous editions.)

That's true. When I daydream about smaller points games or ways I'd tweak
40k to support smaller game sizes, assuming that knights aren't invited is always a default assumption.
