I haven't seen Ex Machina, but I don't hold 28 Days Later and Annihilation in high regard. Not sure what to expect, but I don't think I have much to look forward to.
I quite enjoyed 28 Days Later, although it was an initial surprise that it wasn't a sequel to 28 Days...
Reviews are dropping now. Almost all of them state the film is as apolitical as possible and focuses only on showing the harm a civil war would cause for the average citizen. Also, photojournalists get messed up. One reviewer described it as The Walking Dead without zombies.
