I've started making an effort to purchase some of the GW kits I've admired from the past few years but didn't bother buying (due to not wanting to deal with the preorder rushes and not being excited to play any of the games at the moment). Mostly putting it into storage pending a renewed interest in Necromunda and/or the inevitable Mordheim relaunch. Grabbed the Cursed City reprint, an Exaction Squad, and the Sanctioner Automata so far.
On that note, can anyone help me figure out the proper name of a kit from the last year or two? I remember it being previewed and released but not the specifics, and the new GW website is unpleasant to sift through. Might have been a Kill Team release, might have been 40K, slim chance it was AoS (but I think not).
It was definitely for a Chaos faction. It came with a group of models who were not all the same sort of guy. Two or more of the models were greatsword-wielding guys with ornate armour and masks. One of the models was a little more techy, maybe some sort of scribe or herald guy, I think he was holding a scroll or a book and might have had a voxcaster face-implant kind of deal. Ring any bells?
iirc the last time the addressed it was about a month ago during a PAX stream, where they predicted March fulfillment.
Is it the Dark Commune for 40k? Automatically Appended Next Post: Altruizine wrote:That's the one I was after. Thank you!
Going to use them for Cawdor/Redemptionist conversions I think.

No worries, glad I could help.

For 40k specifically? Eh. Maybe filling out some necron units. I never went big on the plastic wraiths or tomb spyders.
Potentially arguing myself out of doing a solar auxiliary force as a Guard army, but I suspect that won't be terribly difficult- once the TOW books come out, seeing if I can do a low-cost/ low-effort update to one of my old WFB armies will likely take precedence.
But this feels like a consolidation/painting year more than a 'buy or game a lot' year

Just signed up for a slow grow 40k league and a Kill Team league.
The slow grow starts at 500 and goes up 250pts per month for four months. It starts next Monday.
The only thing I can field fully painted by Monday is classic Sisters- my plastics aren't done yet, and even if they were, the list they come from also includes an Immolator, and there's no way I'm finishing that by Monday.
I could get my Sisters, or Drukhari, or GSC ready by the end of the month, which is still within the window for playing my League game, but I'll have classic Sisters on standby in case I'm called upon to play sooner.
My first order of business is finishing a few more pieces for my Wych Cult Arena so that I can play through the three-round gladiator fight which will grow the Cult component of my Drukhari army large enough to be a part of the realspace raid. I've got two basic 5 member cults that are going to fight to earn their Wych weapons, their Hekatrices and one Cult will also earn a Succubus.
I think I can have the required terrain painted in time to fight the match this weekend.

TSons codex, Chaos SM Codex, Chaos Knights codex (although I doubt they'll be in that order).
I'd love Adeptus Eldari'ness and Adeptus Chaos'y for the whole Epic 30k set as well. The miniatures for them. Chuck Orks's and actual Adeptus Titanicus in on there as well, and you've got a game. Because I'm a good boy, Santa.... *holds plasma pistol to Santa's head*
(I know why they didn't make it 40k, I just wish they'd made it 40k. It's like they sometimes want products to fail, just so something else doesn't fail as bad in some areas).

Finishing off a bunch of stuff to bring all my armies up to spec for 10th is the first priority for me - that's mainly Deathwatch, but some minor additions for Necrons and CSM as well. I have everything assembled, just need to push through and paint it all.
TOW will likely take up a lot of time in 2024, but I'm not planning to buy much for it. I'll be converting my old WH armies to work with the new game, which should hopefully be pretty quick. Just annoying that Vampire Counts and Dark Elves won't have lists in the new game :(

Your DE & Vampires will have a rules PDF at launch according to GW.
