I take what I like the look of and thats the end of it. Losing more than winning is my thing, I doubt it would make little diff what I took tbh, because current 40K isnt inspiring for me, which results in me not trying to be any good at it

Tomb Blades are this for every pre-7th Necron player who wanted to be able to use the Decurion.

That brings me to Chaos furies for the same reason. To get the daemon formation Bonus you could/had to take a single unit of Chaos furies. I bought some giant mosquitos from heresy miniatures to go with my nurgle daemons. Without the rules I wouldn't have gotten them, but at least I found something nice.

Seriously, his 40k model looks like a derpy Saturday Morning Cartoon. I absolutely hate that model. But, if you're playing World Eaters, you pretty much need to take him (even if for no other reason than a lack of options).
But now that it's 48 hours later, you are playing World Eaters and you secretly love 1990's X-treme Angron?

...no. I find the faction boring as hell.
And after some extra thought, I've realized what it is about 40k Angron that pisses me off so much: unlike his brothers, if you strip away the Legion iconography, he just looks like any other Bloodthirster. You can still see Fulgrim, Magnus, and Mortarion in their modern daemon forms - Angron is just another Greater Daemon.

I can’t force myself to buy models i dislike because of rules. As someone mentioned, Desoltors are the perfect example, I would never buy that kit no matter how good. I just added one to my Deathwatch Fortis kill team but kitbashed the weapon using Xenos weaponry.
I’m not hugely fond of the new marine tanks, but they have grown on me more over the last year so I finally bought a repulsor.

Khorne isn’t exactly noted for its originality.

Yeah I've defo had that feeling before, but it isn't too hard to bypass if you're crafty about it. Want to run Catachan versions of those new krieg artillery pieces? just swap out the crew. Need rough riders? Just use drakespawn mounts and third party riding legs. Need Possessed but your Chaos Warband doesn't like mutations? Give them heavy melee weapons and heavier chaos armour. It's quite easy when you have the resources, and the best part? You get a new, completely unique, one of a kind unit to add to your collection! How cool is that?!

Yeah, GW used to strongly encourage kitbashing. Hell, orks are built on it and there's that famous deodorant bottle grav tank.
It seems though that GW doesn't encourage it as much and actually make it harder to do with new sculpts that have fewer bits options and are more monopose.
Ork boys used to be very customizable, but the newer set doesn't seem to give you that level of freedom? I dunno, I didn't bother wasting money on it because I didn't like the way it looked.
But yeah, if you don't like the look of a model, just take a knife to it and reshape it how you want. Or use a CAD program and just print your own if you really dislike the look of the model in its entirety but want to use its rules.

They aren't great. I did see a nice conversion that replaces the pilot with the guns and it actually looked really cool, but yeah the "official" model looks pretty lame.

They're extra goofy when comparing them.to Destroyers, which used the jetbike rules for movement in 3rd and 4th, but that fused/modified body design.

I don't hate the models. Built slightly wrong they're ok. They're just a dumb largely redundant unit with idiotic background; which was clearly made a mandatory unit in the Reclamation Legion formation just to sell models at the cost of players' existing collections.

My thoughts exactly! I really hate how... monopose everything has become. Big reason why I love the Catachan models. Sure they're old, but you can build them any way you like, and mixing and matching parts to create something new is a welcome challenge, I'd say. Huge part of the reason I don't really want a refresh, I just KNOW they'd remove a lot of the customisability of the models. They can be built as simply or as detailed as you want to, and making them look good isn't hard at all. If GW plays their cards right they could make MORE money from people buying their stuff to kitbash with! It's shooting themselves in the foot.
