Unless new recruit is wrong, which is certainly possible, panic also requires just a hit to cause a test.
Only pinning needs that wound to actually go through to cause a test. Side note, if one is doing a status check list sniping those voxes is damn near mandatory.

Astartes Shotguns are looking like extremely good value for a 2pt Centurion upgrade. A single pistol shot probably wasn't doing much, but a failed Suppressed check can cost you a fight.

Suppressed/Stunned went right up in my estimation here.
Sure, the unit usually has a decent chance of shaking it off in the next turn. But…if I can line up a charge in the same turn I inflict a Status? That enemy unit is in deep trouble, striking at I1. That’s enough for even basic Tactical Marines, with Chain Bayonets, to swamp and overwhelm small units of even Elite infantry, as the Taccies get their licks in first.
Termies less so due to increase T and W. But Power Armour elites may not like that at all.
And of course, it gets very nasty if what I’m charging with is a proper elite CC unit in its own right.
Also pretty handy against Line infantry, as you can stop them Scoring objectives.
And all without having to wound first!

Also? Now extremely glad I’ve got three HB Rapiers.
They’ve solid firepower, but Suppressive (2) is just lovely. And all for 40 points - and of course an Aux Det, which is arguably the true cost!

Nemesis Bolters are also looking like a must-have.
Heavy (RS) for max S5, Precision (4+), Breaching (5+) and Pinning (1).
Snipe out the helpful stuff, and with a really solid chance of Pinning the enemy unit. And with a 48” range, a canny deployment can see them bother a healthy percentage of the battlefield, dropping that Pinning exactly where you need it. So good, and a unit of 5 Recon Marines so equipped is a pretty reasonable 145 points. Yes I’ve just ordered a set.

Doubly sad now they removed Pinning from 10-point combi-grenaders, needing an unsaved wound, when a 2 pt shotgun can have Stun needing just a hit... there are some arm swaps in my future
