I must have hit a nerve. I was refering to the accusation of cheating. Why are you guys posting it at all? Talk about it in PMs until you know for sure, then post it.
I see the Capt's rep is well deserved.

I am a gamer who likes war games. Guess it something left over from my childhood. At 56 years old, I do not like to argue or fight when I play games as it takes all the fun out of it. I have been a Sci Fi City Gamer/Enterprise 1701 Gamer since the store was in Longwood Florida, which for some of you children will be when you were a gleam in your morther's eye, for the rest of you that was about 1970. I have played war games in many states and a couple of countries. The point is we all make a mistake now and again, especially when the rules change and we take a vacation from playing a game for a while. We play these games because we get some enjoyment out of playing them. The guys I play with at Sci Fi City are good people and for the most part that know their armies very well. They are willing to help make you a better gamer or offer suggestions on a project to make it better. So the long and short of it is be nice these are good people here and they have the game and improving the gaming community in Orlando as a goal. Let's all of us get back to our tables and make the hobby better and stop all the crap. I am for good gaming and having fun. Warrior 50

First of all, who accused anyone of cheating? And secondly, why is my name being brought up in any of these instances like I am the one that is accusing anyone? I suggest you re-read the posts or get glasses or something. As for my "rep", that's funny. I have no "rep" and even if I did, if it came from an internet forum, I'd really would care less. You don't know me and I don't know you, so your posts are clearly entering thread hijacking/ trolling, so move along. Capt K

Everybody needs to drop the subject, quick.
Nobody is accusing anybody of anything.
And nobody should be supporting an unfounded reputation for their own ends.
If you have nothing to say about the RTT or have anything to report, do not post in this thread.
Otherwise, it was a good tournament, and I am glad everybody had a great time.

Moving on to another subject...
The highlight of the whole tournament for me was the game against Mahu, and some of the things that happend in that game. Two gun drones dropping a devestator squad below half then charging and tying them up for 3 turns(6 rounds of combat), and the assault squad failing to charge the fire warriors, then falling back of the table, not to mention the las/plas squad recycling and failing to kill the piranha that cost Mahu the table quarter and battle point.

Nothing much. Just that my termie command squad made the eldar too scared to come out the webway! hehe. The highlight of that game was the beating my Command Squad took in that game against a 20 man seer council. They ended up dead, but my Librarian kept on going. Veil of Time helped him stay around. In the end he killed enough terminators for the win while the rest of my army watched. In hindsight, it's actually is quite funny. I just wish I could have fought an avatar...how many of those do you see hitting the tables these days? lol. Capt K

I held the assault squad back to wait to help counter assault if he dropped the gate. With two flamers, that's a lot of dead storm guardians. Sending the assault squad may have helped but I doubt it. Capt K

Yeah, Mahu's librarian spanked my avatar which was his only saving grace. One of my storm guardians was soo outraged that he ran up and poked the librarian in the eye killing him. Sorry again about the way the game turned out Capk. When you dropped your command squad behind me my only real choice was to do what I did. You were smart enough to keep the rest of your army away from me so I couldn't "bomb" them with my reserves. With that in mind I kept the council against your HQ and even though I couldn't finish them off I knew it was unlikely you would even break me. If there had been actual space to bring my avatar into close combat I might have risked it anyways. Instead, if I brought in the reserves I only risked losses which is not a smart move considering I was winning by a narrow margin. If you had dropped your HQ in on the other side (or even started on the table) I would have been forced into the teeth of your guns instead of you giving me a charge or run away ultimatum. .....I wasn't going to tell you this....but my whole council....was...GIRLS. Lazarus.

Meh. Actually in hindsight, from a narrative standpoint it makes sense. I think you and I laughed about that over dinner. Your Farseers pretty much summed up the situation as a potential a$$ handing and opted to keep the army away....hehe. Either way, it was still fun knowing that your army was forced into that situation considering the number of guns pointed at it waiting for it to arrive. Capt K

To be fair the capt was the first person in the thread to defend this guy. After repeated uses of the word "illegal" and at least one "abusive use of the infiltrate rule". I was trying to stop the witch burning. I simply feel there was a better way to have handle this. And now back to your regularly scheduled witch hunt.

Well, it is true that he used to use infiltrate rules wrong, but even he would admit that. He used to deploy 12 inches away even though they could be seen, he thought you only had to be out of line of sight from the closest unit or something like that.
Also, with the daemonic gifts that he either had on his list, or thought he had on his list, his prince would have been illegal. I just couldn't find a better word to use to describe it, we all put it off as a honest mistake though, so no one accused him of cheating, and even if it had been brought up at the tournament, he would not have been disqualified. He probably would just have had to fix his list mid game. It was a mistake, nothing more and no one said it was anything more.

I was under the impression that the invulnerable save from turbo boosting applied in both the shooting phase and if it the unit was assaulted until quite recently. It was an honest mistake but a bad one to make. We all make mistakes, so no big deal.

Exactly. It might have been a mistake and at the end of the day, it can happen. Nobody is "witch hunting" him. We play against him almost every saturday. Besides, the list that he is working on next is fresh and I can't wait to see that thing hit the table. Gonna be ugly! lol. Capt K

To be fair to Gareth too, I have seen him improve over the time he has been attending, but he still brings his A-game and he is a great player because of that.
Of course, now I am no the only one playing Word Bearers, darnit. Oh well, now that I have my 1850 list in the can, I can finally get a fully painted army on the table.

Nine troop choices for Chaos Marines is awesome, plus this is one of the few Chaos armies that has a 4+ invulnerable save. If I played WB I would take a DA in terminator armor and demagouge with a large Chosen retinue of terminators (probably nine so I could take three Reaper autocannons with Tank Hunter), one bike squad with a teleport homer, one infiltrating squad of Chaos Space Marines and the rest of the army would be deamons. A friend of mine has had lots of success with WB and I always felt a bit nervous when his nine Flamers were summoned.

Word Bearers really can do some nasty things. All the benefits of chaos, except god specific marks, with 9 troop choices. Before Mahu said he was doing a word bearers army, I had considered making one myself, but decided not to when I chose to do a Lysander wing instead.

What's priceless is is the fact you get proven wrong on the first page of the thread and have nothing whatsoever to say about it. I guess this is the best you can do now huh? Wether or not the use of the illegal lord was intentional or accidental it is still illegal. That is a fact. Most everyone here has come to the conclussion that it was an accidental issue. If you want to beat your drum go ahead...it seems pretty standard here so far. Lazarus.

I think we can all learn something from this little exercise. There is little use in pointing out what another local did, even if it is stated as unintended. At the end of the day we well all get back up and play each other again. If you think someone broke a rule then send them a private message rather than slurring them online in front of everyone. You know the old saying about casting the first stone... wise words those were indeed.
