Don't know why, but that post kinda egged me on next to your avatar of that smirking sister....

That would require they pop the rhino and survive the turn of rapid fire shooting that comes afterwards (Because they cannot kill the rhino and the squad in the same turn via shooting).

Also? Post points cost.

True, though if they popped your rhino when your farther than 18 inches away, you wouldn't have a chance.

Edited points into the post.

Wouldn't exactly be hard to get in range. Pop smoke when just outside of Bolt of Change range, and the squad would find it nigh-impossible to kill the rhino. Next game turn, the Sisters get out, position one heavy flamer and two flamer templates to cover the entire five man squad, and then bolter spam with Divine Guidance..

Those 1k sons? They're pretty much fethed. 2 flamers, 1 heavy flamer, and 18 bolter rounds (at bs4, about twelve hits)... quite a bit of damage in one turn on a five wound squad.

Ok, had a bit of a mis-information going on there, but.....

Too true, however, your forgetting that, while beleive you me I have a healthy respect for flamers, I still get my armor save. Lets say, due to armor saves, I save 3 of my 1k sons. one rapid fire later, and you just lost 3-4 sisters. To shoot me with those flamers you have to walk up to me in the open, while I can be in cover ignoring your bolter fire.

Well, it's hard for a squad with so few wounds to survive bolter and flamer spam no matter who does it, nevermind Sisters, whom do it best...

I giggled.

I was hoping to edit my post before you saw it, but I failed, so you might want to look at it again.

Really want to play you now, partly because I have been looking forward to play someone who isn't the Guard or Eldar, partly for the fluff reasons, but mostly just because you seem like someone who would be a hell of a blast to play.

Can't argue with that.

Well anyway, should I try again, or do you want to post something to kill the 1K sons?

Also, Burna Boyz are more expensive, and less durable.

But you can concentrate more flamers on the target. If there's one unit that sums up the idea of "overkill," it's 15 burna boyz screaming your way in a battlewagon. Consider any infantry in its path but a distant memory.

Sure, the lascannons could possibly get through the AV14 front armor. But it's more likely that five plasma cannon blasts would wipe out the obliterators in one turn...

Vs the Oblits, or the Executioner?

Executioner. Although he'd do just fine against the oblits too... (okay, he'd probably die, but not before making a big mess)

Dunno- if you dont go first your sucking 5 templates and the HB. Or 3 templates if it backs up out of charge range. Keep in mind the assassins aren't fleet...

Eversor has a 12" charge, fleet's got nothing on this guy (he does do cocaine, afterall). And besides, if you're going to pack an inquisitor in your army to unlock the guy, you'll probably taking an Emperor's tarot for kicks too.

This is unit on unit- no tarot :p

So its a coin toss, and that seems more like gambling than beating a unit

Either way, you can start in cover and still get that magical charge. 18 inches is huge, afterall. Although the doctor says that I might intimidate the ladies.

Starting in terrain still means a Difficult terrain check- which has a good chance of bringing you up short.

And only a 40k player would equate assault radius with something huge and potentially intimidating.

So- its a coin toss for first turn- and then a coin toss for the potential difficult terrain check. Thats still gambling Vs a win.
