I can't think of anything against that, I tend to focus more on assulting and well at this point range the assassin wins most fights, and in a real game I wouldn't send my lord against her its to big a risk.

You cant kite when a unit deploys by popping up right next to you- and can assault the same turn

Battle Cannon vs AV13 > TL las vs AV 14. If you had the las sponsons it would edge to the predator- but as is

The pred has roughly a 13% chance at a glance, and a 13% chance to pen. Adding the sponson Lascannon adds 21%

For the battle cannon- counting ONLY direct hits on the scatter dice 10% glance, 11% penetrate- add in more hits for scatter rolls of 6 or less(the -3" for BS 3 keeps the template center hole on the hull- those percentages would go up).

So- without the sponsons its basically a tie- add in the sponsons and you're winning 3-1. So add the dang sponsons for 165 pts :p

Other than the whole range problem(HG's are only 24", Vs thTyphoon launchers 48) they could do it-if the Typhoons dont kite( they can move 12 and fire the missles- and get a 4+ save). If they somehow get within 24", its a maybe- otherwise any half competent player is gonna win with the typhoons.

Addendum- Hive Guard arent synapse critters- so theyre making Ld 7 rolls to avoid having to lurk- Which means half the time you cant move them- makes it alot easier to kite them

Ah, forgot about the synapse. In that case, I’ll take 3 Eldar War Walkers + w/ 2 scatter lasers each. 180 points. Vehicles can only take a 4+ cover save if they move over 12” which means they can’t shoot.

Thats correct- but the typhoons can move flat out to get out of range(or jsut deep strike out of range in the first place)- then move up to 12" to keep the warwalkers (with their 36" range) between the 37-48" sweet spot.

There is no realistic 37"-48" sweet spot on a standard 4' by 6' table and you'd be lucky to get one round of protection before being pinned against a table edge. As for deepstriking - given the attached illustration that depicts a war walker squad movement and weapon range, I think risking a deepstrike in the safe white areas would be more benificial to the war walker player than i would be to the landspeeder player - not to mension the war walker will just move into range next round and finish the landspeeders.

Why does everyone assume that theyre going to get to go first, have cover, get the charge, be in melta range etc etc???

I try to assume worst case scenario with a bit of logic based on the basic scenario rules like deployment zones and such.

Probably what with all the terminators/obliterators that have been suggested. They deepstrike in, therefor get the first shot.
