I just spent 2 hours in the ditch on my way to work. Now I don't have a car because my father took the tires out of alignment when he pulled me out.

The good news is no more hour and a half drive to work. The bad news is......

I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

Hmm..Spent the whole night 'playing' guitar. I've been playing playing for like a year, but have yet to learn anything worth-while.....ugh.

I find it absurdly hard to play really fast triplets....On a Strat...I've heard strats just aren't good at all for complicated strumming..Any basis for this?

I don't quite understand what you mean by 'complicated strumming'. I suppose if you mean a little triplet or gallop of some sort, they work just like any other electric guitar; what the instrument can do, for the most part, is dependant on the player and their skill, or lack their of in most cases. I have never had any problems with mine being overly difficult to do anything on, except hen I didn't know how to do it! Har!

Keep in mind the thing is a Stratocaster, so don't expect it to play really metal stuff on it or anything of that sort. I would try for some jazz or blues or very early rock 'n roll on it. I think the guitar lends itself really well to that kind of music, rather than Eddie Van Halen or whatever it is people my age are supposed to listen to these days.

I am so terribly out of touch with my own generation. I would have fit in better if it were the 1920s.

Now about me!: I tried to make a plasmagun out of a lasgun and plasma pistol last night, and it worked surprisingly well! There is just one little problem, however: I lost it. Hrnghrnghrng. Thankfully, I have about a million of the little plasma pistols and a few more lasguns laying around in my bitz drawer. I also got to work on a Chaos-y objective marker, but the project was soon canceled as I realized I have next to no non-loyalist bitz. Next time I go over to my friend's for a game, I think I'll try to nab some stuff from his box.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Thanksgiving was like a month and a half ago here but yess hapy mass murder turkey day! I am a guitarist too for about 6 years now and i also have a strat and it is for JUST metal, its tuned down to c-g-c-f-a-d with some thick ass string the zakk wylde kind i cant remember the thickness off the top of my head, but keep at it triplets are fun and wait till you learn sweep picking and sweep tapping..really fun but took me a long time to get down and strats are beautiful never think its the guitar because i have an esp mh400, bc rich mockingbird st, ibanez rg and a big fat ol strat and all are equally easy to play. I believe you mean that? If not, I would be obligated to ask why in the Hell anyone would tune their 'low E' down two whole steps, and the rest of their strings just the one.

Nope i meant c-g-c-f-a-d and its drop c tuning from the standard e-a-d-g-b-e then that do to many place but my guitars go as so
bc rich- e a d g b e
ibanez- d e d g b e
esp - d g c f a d
strat - c g c f a d <-- which is the metal tuning check out bullet for my valentine tunings and killswitch engaged, unless you want real weird tunings and listen to opeth, the grand conjurations tuning is d a d f a d and if you want a real challenge use the turning d a d d a d and slipknots tunings are even lower at b f# b e g# c#, and then theres always 7 and 8 strings tunings, and using the c g c f a d so you can play notes such as
d|---------
a|---------
f|----------
c|-0--3---
g|-0--3---
c|-0--3---

too many words!! >.<

In a word, no.

See if you can find someone to lower your action for you. That might help.

Poor Fauntleroy. Always so abused. Eventually karma will catch up to him and then kick him in the ass some more just to be petty.

Oh, that one hurt. Now I'll have to go and crawl in my skin from wounds that will not heal ...

Nah, I admit I make it sound worse than it is. It's not a bad life. I just have an abominable habit of being in the absolute worst place at the worst time .

Could be worse. You could end up accidentally taking a bullet for a terrorist.

Chin up, LLF. School doesn't last forever.

I recommend taking up guitar. Chicks dig it. One caveat - no tech metal. Chicks do NOT generally dig that.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

I'm drunk. Hello Dakka.

Special greeting to the DCMs in DCM land. I promise I'll be a DCM again soon... as soon as I could be bothered getting this burger out and eating it. I mean... getting out my credit card and paying... stuff.

Gawd I'm sloshed. $3 spirits at my local seems to have gotten the better of me... aargh. 4:45am looks more and more like sleepy time.

Considering that I love pretty everyone in the whole world, I think that that would be a suitably ironic and fitting end.

I tried Guitar once, it...wasn't pretty. I can do drums. I like drums, drums are simple.

Awesome, even better. Guitarists can be quite geeky - drummers ARE sex!

I can make sounds on a guitar. Granted, they may be the last sounds you hear (that or the blood gushing from your ears) before going deaf, but sounds nonetheless!

I can do them okay, just not hundreds of them at a time (and at something like 160 btm)...

That probably has something to do with it. I raised it a bunch because I was getting horrendous fret-buzz....I'll try it, thanks!

DRUMS are cooler than guitar, but I have no space for a kit right now. I'll stick with rockband for now

I vaguely recalled posting something earlier this morning so I had to check. Fortunately I didn't put up anything stupid.

I've had a big few nights and this one's going to be a deliberately lonely one. Just me and five unpainted boar boyz...
