Another thing, I'm kind of confused by some of the character models, like Jeanne D'arc, Achilles, etc. What exactly are they supposed to be? Are they recreations of their respective characters from history grown in labs and essentially resurrected to fight wars in the future, or...I dunno, what's up with that?

Kinda, many are recreations to create a great leader, advisor, or great "entertainment" character.

Many of them are related to the Aristeia! combat gameshow which attempts to do what "World's Deadliest Warrior" attempts, pit great warriors from humanity's history against each other.

They are invariably constructs programed by the central AI governing the O-12. I don't believe they are robots, but "silk" grown bodies implanted with preprogrammed Cubes.

Sidstyler wrote:Well the same could go for any negative comment for any company then. PP doesn't post here, GW doesn't post here, they likely will never know or really care if we say "This model looks like gak", or "Price increases are bs", etc.

I understand the point you're making and I agree. What I'm saying though is that by the same token you should be discouraging positive comments, because it's the same damn thing. The company won't be seeing your comments and won't really give a damn if you're going to buy one, or four, or even any at all, or that you just like the pose/sculpt/etc. but don't play the army, all they really care about is that there's cash coming in. Do you see what I mean?

It just feels like Fetterkey (or me since I partially agreed with him) are being shouted down for finding something to critique, and probably one of the only things with Infinity models that I've seen so far. Maybe you lot like the nonsensical "sexy pose" models, personally I think it doesn't make any fething sense on a battlefield. I see people bitch all the time about helmetless Space Marines not making sense...why the feth would a chick in armor EVER strike this pose?!

Maybe the armor forces her hips to sway? :\ I mean at least she's got a cool outfit, but I just don't get what she's doing here. Casting a spell, snapping at a lower rank, turning off her "clapper", we really gonna talk about silly poses?

This one's even worse!

She's supposedly hacking something and not even looking at what she's doing? And it's not like she's looking away to aim the gun at something either, because she's just kinda staring at the ground somewhere, so...what the feth? And of course, exposed midriff, because as we all know full well this is how all female soldiers and women in general dress. Even in freezing weather, in a desert, or on the field of battle fighting aliens or robots, we have to let that tummy show or else all that working out and watching our calorie intake would be for nothing! But seriously though, this model would have been so much better if they would just turn her damn head to look at the holographic screen she's playing with. Also let me say that when your at a computer and a little robo spider creeps into the corner of your vision you're not going to look at it?
Pacific wrote: I think fortunately there are enough of either variety of female sculpt, so you have the option to either choose that type of model or not. Of course the guy is entitled to his opinion, news thread or not this is a forum for discussing miniatures, and he shouldn't bit shot down for it. Let's not drag the negativity from the other parts of the forum here guys

Yes, I realize that and I appreciate that there are variant models so I can assemble a force that pleases me. And thanks, that's exactly what I'm trying to say, this is a forum meant for discussion and I don't think it's appropriate to tell someone they can't discuss something because they're in the minority.

Are you done dragging this Off Topic?
I like the models overall, there seems to be some winners and losers amongst the line though.

Ps. Privateer does actually post here.

But it seems Infinity has models that appeal to both of us types, so it should be easy enough for me to avoid stuff like the daktaris and get the more "serious" models like the one above. I swear I'm going to end up buying that model before I even get a rulebook, lol.

Buy it all the rules are 100% free at Corvus Belli Infinity site. The only reason for the book is fluff and if yoour like me and like books more then print outs.

They are AI's created be ALEPH and placed in Lhost bodys. Think of them like models with CUBE.

She is holding one of the cables that come out of the neck of her helmet to connect it safely to some kind of terminal. look at the hand , she has some kind of USB connection or something. Why not using wireless in da fiutah? maybe because it is safer using it? I don´t know, I´m not the one making silly questions.

I have not read anyone complaining about the huge flag that this space marine is carrying in the middle of war.

Not anyone complaining about the absurd chill-out time of the Spess mahreens when they are not at war, cleaning their rifles 24/7.
But I can easily imagine the female soldiers form Infinity having sex in their free-time.

The prices are not as low as in the Infinity Week, actually I'd say it's the standard pricing. It just seems to be an initiative developed with the community to show standard size example armies for new players. In their website they even include the army code under each pic. If you enter that code in their Infinity Army creator, you'll see the army list for the mini range of the pack.

Those are example armies at the normal prices rather than package deals. I think the idea is to demonstrate how cheap Infinity is to get into.

Exactly, it's even showing retail prices not the discounted prices you can get from an online store.

So, it's even cheaper than it appears in those images

I have to say those rules videos are amazing, it makes me want to pick up the game just to actually use those videos.

The miniatures look awesome as well.

Yes, you are right.

It is a suggested 300 point list for each faction.

Still a good guide for a starting player, I think.

A great idea, just not the models I want for my faction. If they had a pure Corregidor starter box, I would snap that up in a heart beat.

Wow. I started this game a while ago and I never thought I'd witness the day where Corvus Belli advertises its prices as a selling point to get into the game.

Either way, it shows that the Starter Pack plus a few blisters (or large models) can get you in at the highest levels of play.

So tempting, so tempting.

My problem with Infinity is that I went cool looks before rules and now I have "elites" from 3 armies but no grunts for orders and the grunts don´t tickle my fancy.
