Glory to the Twelfth! Glory to Angron!

‎"Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls. The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does. That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

@ swordwind ; yes, as I said. that head's got to go

@CalasTyphon216; Maybe, it's not all that goodlooking though and I want a big-ass chainsaw

@Stinkyfive; it's Bloodreaver; the chainsword carried by the fleshtearer chaptermaster Gabriel Seth. not yet avalible in finecast to my knowledge.

to the rest; thanks for the cnc, I hope you enjoy my work.

I have a little hobby-thread going in the P&M section. Some say it's the best blog on Dakka, some don't agree, most belive it would be better if I finished at least one project some time this century and not just kept starting new ones.

I.. don't think so, it came out a little larger than the original dread since it has added armorplating and it got a bit taller from the repositioning of the legs as you can see on the reference-pic.
How do you define truescale?

Oh well, you can call it true-scale then if it makes you happy. I am too lazy to bother with that stuff.
Mmm, while I understand why they didn't make articulated legs on the first plastic dread (didn't have the tech and know-how back then) I am still a bit iffy on why they didn't fix that with the new venerable, ironclad and furioso plastic kits. they did fix the sentinel legs from stiffs to full articulation when they re-made that model sprue. Probably noone thought about it. Anyway it's really simple to fix the legs, just a few cuts and some thin plastic rod if you want/need to replace the 'shin'-pistons.

Loveing up armoured dread. Looks great. I to agree that GW have been a bit lazy again with the new dread kits, there Os no goo reason why they couldn't have made the legs a little more dynamic. But as you say, a few cuts here and there and you can get some good results.

Well this is a new take.
been working with some icon concepts for the plasma-master-blaster squad and been thinking a little about making a tank. I think I could pull off something like that. beside the threads.. I detest and hate making repetitive stuff and yeah.. the baneblade kit threads should suffice.
The boys in bl.. Indigo can need somethin' dead shooty and dead ssneaky.. like 'em sneakygitz...

Thoughts? Ideas? Random Gak?

*Insane Giggle*

@Capitansolstice; Well, perhaps..maybe not. I recon you are reffering to the Valdor tank hunter (that thingy with the Malcador chassis and a badass neutron laser). If you look again you'll see that the hull sillouette and sponsondesign mirrors that of the Land Raider in some aspects and that the details both features the indents common on astartes veicles and the general hulltextures of the Leman Russ. I have an idea about marrying the Astartes and Guard vehicle design elements aswell as stealing liberally from forgeworld's remake of the classic Rogue Trader era vehicles to produce something that would fit the 30th millenium. Thinking about the sponsons I would -like- something odd like a heavy Conversion beamer or Graviton cannon but I think I will settle for a Raipier quadlaser since I don't think I have the skill or materials to produce a passible conversion beamer. And well, that centerline cannon (no turrent! bleh!) that I just have drawn a few lines on so far is intended to be some sort of 'Plasma Lance'. I felt just ''huge friggin' laserz-cannon'' was a little boring and well, lazy. Also because I am very fond (obsessed) of plasma weaponry.

If anyone wonders this might be the 'Outdo Myself' -project. Why? because I said I would; because I can and also have a pile of unused 3 and 4mm plasticard that needs to find a new home. Also with my current good results with vehicles and plasticard there is that small thing called ''Illusions of Grandeur'' running around in my head and messing things up. ''-can't be that bad'' you think? I am after all not competing with myself here but rather holding myself to the standards of Daren Parrwood and Will Hayes (wich are lightyears away in skill and experience) so you can see the grand insanity at work here.

yeeeeah.. This will end well.

@Polari: Nice! Show the ink once it's done.

On a completely random note I have also observed that I have been pushed up to 5th place on 'That List' with only the 'Exalt function added' post between me and Gits Mantis warrior thread. Warmill's Lazorz-cut stuff on a solid second and M-J's Dark Eldar cabal thread on first place.
The race is ON!

@Hits: Argh! just goes to show that all the great ideas are already taken and that everything has already been done

@prototype_X: Cheers!

@polari:

@Capitansolstice: I thought so too, initially I intended to use the swivvle-sponson design used on the 'RT'- Tanks ( FW's Demios pattern Predator and the Land Raider Proteus) but while possible the inherent difficulties of producing circular and movable parts without proper tools meant that it would take forever and probably yield quite poor results. As for the 'Mk II' design (Mk IIb & Armored Protrus Land Raiders) the difficulty lies in the weapon hardpoint; it is simply not designed in any way, shape or form to allow the mounting of a quad weaponsystem as the Rapier laser destroyer. It is simply too narrow. Also; there is no reason to re-invent the weel foe the fifth time, by using the 'Phobos' pattern sponson assembly I don't have to scratch-build the whole thing but can use the stuff straight off the sprue. that's at least a whole workday's worth of time or more saved right there.

Moar doodelz! I'll do a proper concept later on though, this is just a quick scetch to get the general shape down on paper so the proportions and lines are a little off the mark. Enjoy

thanks, I'll do a side, top, front and rear scetch of the whole thing now that I have the rough concept ironed out. I'd like to make it like one of those technical speccs from the Imperial Armour books if I can get my head around some kind of image processing software. I am fairly good with a pen and paper but quite hopeless when it comes to digital images. once that has been done I'll break out the tools and plasticard and the constructing will commence.

Haha looking good, just one thing I might suggest, maybe not have the Alpha with the Omega, because that symbolizes the beginning (alpha) and the end(omega) which is basically the description/symbol of Jesus... And I don't think that's suitable for a space marine chapter being so hellbent on death and all :p let alone one that turns to chaos haha

I don't know; I think they work well combined.
When I see Alpha and Omega it reminds me of the ancient Greek Gods of War, which is fitting and apt I suppose.
