Automatically Appended Next Post: the officer looks very good... like the ridiculous cae of him... and the antenna armor... LOL...does he "wield" a ming like ´stache? how cool is that?!!!
as for the robovaders faces... evil looks good but i think a surprised or even frightened robot would be cool... pose it then with inward facing knees like he is trembling from fear^^

Now, that you've mentioned it... a grab hands drones... yeah... definitely! I allready picture it
@ El Vik
"I am a vile man, I confess it." (c) Imp
And yes, what kind of uber-villain won't like "the merciless" ´stache? The hat is designed after Voltan's helm - I aim for recognizable look, trying to bring back to life all the awesome and, poorly, mostly forgotten elements. Folks are too focused on mainstream stuff like steampunk nowadays...
This faces are the final result of a long line of not-so-fitting concepts... My idea was that a sentient race would try to create an artificial unit based on their own structural profile. Like we are still so fascinated by anthropomorphic robots while that shape is less then effective in many aspects. And main problem here was to give that robots an ability to express emotions... and I want to sculpt it in modules so that people can assemble the needed pose and expression...

voltan from flash too? lol... that might be the road to winning^^

says who....? *mumbles*
module robots...*scratches head* where´have i seen that latley....hmmm... ^^ sounds good...and yep... i bet that is a smaller godcomplex we have... man created robot in his image and all...
And while the modular idea is hard for me to fulfil in small guys the robots are going to be the size of a killa can and I'm pretty sure I can make them nicely modable

I keep them as a part of my "L - containment strategy"
@ El Vik
Coneheads could be fine, but I don't want to take the name as it is, it feels like stealing =/ Gonna keep thinking...
As always I'm working on several things simultaneously and one of them is an Invador body I've planed long ago. I usually don't do pics of my work process but in this case I did, Not sure if anyone will be interested but here they are...
So many ideas... so little time... so slow me...

lol....baiyuan...and that was screened in austria too? man they must have become way cooler the last cooupla years than i remember them^^
the new scukpt looks quite good storag... looks as if he is ready to lurch...and you start with tinfoil? now that is an interesting way to save up on expensive materials.!!!
Yep Vik, I've started to use tinfoil when I had to make a free sculpt in all 3 dimensions. This isn't just to save the mats but mainly to shape a carcass for future sculpt, 'cuz it's much easier to apply mass to a surface than trying to work with unstable piece that deforms on every touch.

ah... yes i can understand that now...! otherwose if all done with sculpting mass it would have taken the better half of a week to come up with such a shape...
Doh... :( I feel kinda srewed... tried a couple different bodyshapes both by concepts and sculpting... the best way to describe overal result - mad megablocks party :/
Not that I dislike the Monster inc approach but that makes them too unique. It's allmost impossible to create anything close to standart outfits and equipment, and what wargame can exist without that?
Moreover, i made a prototype of an universal eye piece... technicaly it worked just fine and can be easily glued to any place on their heads with tiny gaps to fill, but it's soo much a loss to general expression of a model... I mean, every bit counts when you're posing it, every angle, each mm shift of an eyeball or brow... I don't like it...
Sorry for such a strange post but that just boiling inside...

hmm... hard to understand your concerns atm... if you would be willing to share some pics of your so deemed not right looking brickwork i cold maybe help you out if you want to...
My job keeps me at work and away from home leaving no time for sculpting and alike The only usefull thing I can do during shifts is to draw some concepts. Thus I've decided to quit whining about how bad I am at drawing things and finaly do some serious stuff...
So here are the first two arts I've made in my life... I mean besides those shaggy scribble you've seen above
A head concept for some EDI folk
And a spy-themed invador
And to mention, how do you like Fabazoids as a nickname for my alien guys? Fabaceae is a latin for beans and this guys do look like beans to me... Kinda make sense?

hey storag! good to see you back here! i was a bit sad you weren´t on here for so long, as i was rather exited about that project!... but now that you are back i am happy again^^
the to sketches look really good... no cheap selling your stuff please!... how did you do them? the lines look very cool...
the EDI character i am not too fond atm about... but that might change... just a head...a pretty generic at that might be the case for my current indifference about it... but the spy invador... that looks classy... and the stance and the size of the limbs somehow reminds me of these:
It's never my choice to stay away from this fine place but I've been pressed really hard at work for the last months :( My life is mostly like work-food-sleep/repeat atm.
I do continue with our project but the pace is awfully slow =( At least at sculpting.
The head was just a random thought, a concept probably more fitting for some neutral redneck but it's alway good to have some artworks at store if the need ever be.
Both I did on my Galaxy Note smartphone with Autodeck SketchBook Mobile

well i like those sketches a lot! the lines somehow are very dynamic looking...
the redneck is rather a fitting label for that face somehow^^
and well if it is a slow pace you are working on that project...the good thin g is it is still moving
by the way... since you are finally on here... does that mean your buddy ish will happen to be here too the next coupla days? you both seem to have a sort of modus operandi that happens to be almost the same way to appear here^^
