Army books are catalogs. If they only made the rules, they would
be free. But the most expensive part of producing these books is
the color photography and paying the artists. Game companies
want the books to pay for themselves. And come on, books are in
the range of 30-50 USD. That's not much in the world of miniatures.

OR simply release the armybooks in PDF format online for half the price and costs, you could still release the hardback copies but only on order...so you dont overproduce them.

Or even better release 2 version, the hardback is sold instores with the art and pics etc, the rules version is sold PDF online, but it only has the basic rules...no stories, no pics etc....

those who cant afford to buy the book can get the pdf rules...

There was an opening for "Assistant Creative Writer" (or something along those lines - job description was you'd help write rules/codex material) the other week. You don't get many of those jobs coming up free and I suspect most people wouldn't want to leave that job in a hurry. Coincidence?

It depends if the previous person fitted into the studio way of doing things, from what I remember there was a post advertised about 6 months or so ago. I do know from friends that GW have a 3 month test period, and at the end of that if you don't meet the criteria you're gone. Could be just that?

Funny, I have at least as many that turned out to be legit.

The main reason I have a pinch of salt with the 6th edition is the lack of fuss GW make over it. If it was real and leaked you'd see lawyers and police all over it,
