Of the kids I've known of who could read at very young ages (I mean actually read, not just know their ABCs and be able to recognize a handful of vocabulary words), it usually had more to do with the parents teaching the kids themselves, not sending them to preschool. I'm not saying preschool is bad or pointless or anything, just that most kids don't come out of preschool being able to read children's books on their own without a lot of help from parents, because being able to read at that level isn't really the focus of preschool. Preschools exist in rural school districts too, and plenty of people send their kids to them, so I don't think that really has anything to do with it either.
Preschool is more about giving kids a kick start with regards to learning social skills.
Also insuring that the kids don’t make a scene when you try and leave them at elementary school.

its just interesting. I should clarify. In Texas we've had a slew of serial killers/rapists that weren't legal, including one that used a train as transport and would get off every fifty miles or so and kill someone. Its the problem of such an open border - has been since those steenking Spaniards overcame homeland security with their thunder sticks. It used to be a big deal. However it seems about every third murder in the morning news is like that now, its like meh...

Wernher Von Braun was actually a serial killer and rapist but the governmnent covered it all up because they needed him for the Apollo program.
