Personally I think they would fit the tau philosophy of mobile and reactive firepower.
I think there was some tau concept art a few years back of what looked like a guy on a large drone-ish type thing that could have easily been a jet bike.
Also, yes, the tetra screams to be a two wound model jetbike - kid of like an assault bike.

Absolutely agree with the Pirahna and Tetra being good candidates for jet bikes. Also think that Drones should be jet bike until under the command of a model with drone contoller. Then they should "move" the same as the commanding model.
Or, be allowed to move independently up to a certain range ???
Been trying to figure out how to implement the ranged drone idea. Something that lets the Sniper Drone contoller hide while the drone move anywhere within 24" of the controlling model. Maybe I'll work the bugs out of the idea someday

I think tau need more elites at least another 4 types some new suits maybe even some drone suits
to be honest think tau need alot of new units and some models redone
but tau should get a few flyers maybe even a super heavy one without having to use forge world stuff
But mostly I want tau to have abit more character than they have just now but with the random charts in most new codexs now wonder what random chart tau can have?
Just had a thought suicidal bomb drones could be realy intresting

I hope they don't put too much random stuff in the book...that mostly just seems the opposite of the Tau way of operating for me. However, that doesn't mean I'm 100% against a random roll table as long as it makes sense in context. An example could be some kind of EMP weapon that causes a random effect on vehicles, or perhaps Kroot with a Shaper could have the ability to roll for new characteristics.

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics. |

Crisis suits will get random weapons (roll separately for each model in the unit).
Kroot will get random mutations based on what they ate for breakfast.
Vespid will get a random table of six different ways of being useless.
Farsight will get a random table of which units are worn out and can't be used this game.
The Tau flyer will actually be a random table of six different flyers that you roll on at the beginning of the game (and you'll have to buy all six models).
Ethereals will become psykers and get a random number of rolls on a random choice between divination and pyromancy.
Aun'va will automatically take pyromancy, but may replace his psychic abilities with a roll on a random table of how many extra points he costs (and will otherwise be identical to the current character).
Fire warriors will get a random table of assault bonuses.
All of the new models will be finecast and have a random table of flaws applied to them (the special limited edition codex will come with an extra roll on the table for each model).
Remember, 6th edition is CINEMATIC!

Right, we get it Peregrine, you don't like randomness. Could we please stop cramming it into every single thread ever?

Did anyone ever buy Murphys' Rules? Great book, I have fond memories of the random Pizza toppings table. If I can find it, maybe I'll post it here just for Perigrine... Cheers Andrew

A Random piece of wargear the always has the option of screwing over your opponent
on a roll of 1 one unit dies.
On a roll of 3d6 and you get an 18, you auto-win.

Random can be fine if it's done properly. Gets hot in 40k and rolling doubles to get crits in warmachine are good examples.

It would be sad to see another price hike just as Tau are released. If they are released at the same time as another price hike, I could see sales of everything (especially Tau) going WAY down, and Games-Workshop then stopping all support of Tau because someone who doesn't know economics thinks that Tau don't sell well and won't make GW enough money.

I'll assume that that is addressed to me. It was a while back that a games company decided to put together all the stupid rules that were contained in various RPGs and print them as a comic strip. For example there was a Battle of Britain board game where you had to keep individual recaords of every plane that took part. Or in Starfleet Battles, where a federation heavy cruiser could go from Warp 7 to a complete stop simply by turning round. Another favorite pf mine was Steve Jacksons Car Wars, where it was impossible to commit suicide with a 44. It inflicted 2 points damage, but you had 3 hit points, and fell unconsious when you had 1 remaining....
There were several random tables at the back of the book, one of which was the random pizza table.
Cheers
