Those red components really remind me of the 2nd edition 40k era, when Eavy Metal painted all the weapons red.

Yep that's right, suits my age too
The more I look at it, I think I need to loose a bit of that red.

Finally got into modelling mode again - this time it's, yet, another try to come up with a suitable model for my hypaspist. The hypaspist is, by the way, the rank and file trooper of the mechanicus - a super IG if you will (IG stats). What I think of hypaspists is: a mass produced above average soldier, still quite human but with a good deal of tech and bionics - easily more soldier than the tech-priests. Though, topclass and trimmed rank and file soldiers, I also see them as a bit feral, rather violent bunch - without much regret and a burning desire to serve the Machine God.

I'd really be interested in your views and opinions. Pictures of all the bits can be seen in my blog if you should be interested.

I like numbers 3 or 6 the helmet and open but long trench coat make it for me.

I must say I'm loving your work on the mech-ogryn, I hope you agree that copying someone is a high form of flattery, as I may have to steal a few of your ideas for my pit-slave ogryns I've got brewing in the background!

I don't think the Anvil Industry legs work with those torsos, makes them look they have really wide hips. They all look equally good so perhaps mixing the heads and guns in the unit would be a way to add character? If not the puppetswar(?) head looks the best.

If I had to choose just one it would be number 5. I think number 4 would be good to represent a shotgun carrying vet.

8 for a more mechanical look. 3 is the best of the less mechanicals.

In or a penny in for a pound, I would have to agree 8 does have a certain hard ass killer feel to it.

Thanks a lot for you input guys - just keep it coming!

I have to say I agree with most comments, though I favour the big gun somewhat over the skinny looking one.

Seems to be a consistency about nr 8, both here and other places, I'll try to add a few details and cook up a few more to see if still all is good.

Does seem to be quite some time between updates here, sorry 'bout that.

I have started building on of the DFGames 15mm leviathans to use as a Knight in my army. Beautiful kit, so many parts - and so HUGE. First up is a couple of size comparison pics. Take a look at the size of that gun, bullets the size of SM helmets

Not much going on ATM, I promise though that I have a few new things up my sleeve.

In the mean time I need your help on something.
I guess some of you know my blog - it's mainly about AdMech and a link can be found in my signature if you don't know it.
As you see it's called The Forge. It seemed really original at the time when I started it, but I have somehow grown tired of the name. The blog url is forgemechanicus, and I have been thinking about changing the name to that: Forge Mechanicus.
I think it has a better ring to it, and does share the content better than just the Forge. On the other hand I'm a bit against changing it, just for the sake of change. I'm also thinking will people loose the subscribtions ( I don't think so, as I think they are connected to the URL) on the other hands it might be easier to find I people are looking for something Admech.

Could you please let me hear what you think?

Cheers
Manus

Your subscriptions should be fine Manus. I think if you believe it suits what you do better, go with it. It might attract more eyeballs to the blog. "Mechanicus" is one of those words that always reels me in.

After changing a few bits and adding others, then first two sagittarii ended up looking like this.

Finally I think I have figured out how to build my hypaspists - the basic infantry unit/footslogger in the AdMech army. I have, as some might remember, been through several designs - trying to figure out how to do them. As soon as I saw the new GW Scions, I knew my prayers had been heard. Just enough tech to look really bad, and I just love the helmets. Of cause I couldn't let them go without a bit of remodeling, a simple legswap and some groin armor did most of the work, and the biggest "challenge", was cutting of the camping kit on the backpack and replacing it with a fuel/air/whatever tank.
