The Long War isn't a fight between Chaos and Order, it's a squabble of siblings refusing to acknowledge their new kin the warp.

To add to the fun: 3rd edition stated explicitly that they were not psykers nor did they have psychic power.

See that above picture? It's GW art.

Unless she has some kind of stolen Necron/Old One tech that lets her 1. Fly, 2. Set her sword on fire, and 3. Make a lot of enemies combust by her sheer presence while her allies are unharmed, there is something supernatural at play here.

Her sword is not only on fire, it also shoots fire, and she returns from death when killed.

Celestine, Daemon Princess of the Emperor.

Well, all joking aside, one could make a case for the Living Saints being the Law equivalent of Daemon Princes.

It's also not new art. That art was released for third edition-- alongside the explicit statement that it wasn't psychic.

Clearly the statement that it was not psychic is just propaganda.

It was explicitly stated both in the rules as well as in the lore.

It's pretty unambiguous.

If you really can't reconcile the two, why are you using the art as a basis? GW art has always been questionable in terms of lore authenticity.

Can you quote the exact sentences?

I mean, the Terminator entry in C:SM says they are invincible and unstoppable, and I doubt you're going to agree with that.

Because the model supports the art (It flies without a jump pack) and the rules (again, flies without a jump pack, and shoots fire without a flamer).

Did you miss the part where Orks can have their head sewn back on and keep on living? Or Ghaz himself having his head blown to bits, getting sewn up and getting on with it? Or as the guy below you shows, how they completely ignore physics a lot of the time? Or Red Wunz just mysteriously go Fasta becaus eOrks believe despite absolutely no physics reasons?

Going through it page by page: The rules state minor psychic powers don't work on Sisters, and major psychic powers always had a one in six chance of not working. Including beneficial ones used to buff them. This was the original Shield of Faith (and a better implementation of it IMO)

Further along: "Acts of Faith are unaffected by special rules that work on psychic powers, and models using them are not psykers." Celestine could (and still can) use Acts of Faith.

Further along...

The Ardent Blade is "a sacred relic" that is a Blessed Weapon (master-crafted +2 strength two-handed) that can be used as a flamer in the shooting phase. It's described as glowing so bright it's painful to look at. Not as a warp-weapon or psychic power, but as an inherent part of the weapon.

Something glowing bright does not have the same effect as a flamer.

They also don't have to be psykers. Chaos Daemons are mostly not psykers either, and can still do things like fly without jump packs, shoot fire without flamers...

Ashiraya, there's nothing to suggest this isn't some kind of advanced technology from a lost era.

Hell, digi-weapons are still being made in the imperium; to say nothing of stranger tech. A sword which has a hidden flamer or manipulates its overly powerful power field to create a similar effect is far from unbelievable.

Can't we just all agree rising from the dead multiple times, including an atomic explosion, in fluff-cutscenes usually means something supernatural is involved!?

The same could also be said for your insistence that it is psychic.

Not necessarily, super-advanced tech could be involved. We honestly don't know at this point, not enough information is provided.

Actually GW can now spin Celestine as a Perpetual safely, thanks to Dan Abnett. As for the Dark Technology angle, I doubt the Imperium would spare an advance tech to save only one Imperial Saint (understand that there are more than just one once-Living Saints) from multiple certain deaths, including an atomic explosion, but cannot extend such technology with arguably more important figures such as Warmaster Slaydo and Solar General Macharius. And if it were an function within Once-Living Saint Katherine's armour, than it stands to reason that Saint Katherine would still be alive (and flying).

Well this is the Elcertacticydontknowwhotospellit we're talking about. They don't really seem like the "sharing" or "common sense" sort of people. Fair point though.
