I am sorry but like most people here I do not have pictures or nothing fancy like that since I have no camera or anything. So I will just have to go off by memory etc and just tell ya what happened which I hope is not too much of a problem or too boring.

First Mission! I was playing this douche bag who likes to count in french numbers expecting me to understand wtf he was saying! Eric Peterson I think his name was.
Anyway, Here is an off my memory list of mine.

HQ:Ghazghkull Thraka
Ammo Runt
HQ:Big Mek
Ammo Runt, Shock Attack Gun,Cybork Body,Eavy Armor,Boss Pole

Elite: 4 Kommandos and a Snikrot...for sneaking in Ghazghkull
Elite: 14 lootas

Troops 1: Deff Dread
Skorcha and a Big Shoota, Armor Plates and Grot Rigger

Troops 2: Meganobs
x4 Rokkit Launcha, 2 Skorcha and 2 Twin linked shoota In a battle wagon

Dedicated Transport Battle Wagon - Red Paint Job and Grot Riggers with Armor Plates...It was a Cuztom Made one so I couldn't add anything special.

Troops 3 -6- Boyz...just boyz..29 in each group with a boyz nob with a boss pole and powerclaw..

Heavy 1:Killer Cans
Grot Riggers and Skorcha

Heavy 2eff Dread
Skorcha and Big Shoota

Heavy 3: Looted Wagon
boomgun, x2 Big Shoota

It was that weird deployment so my guyz were kinda squinched up in my hole of a deployment. I spent my entire first two turns just getting out of that hole and trying to shoot at stuff from far away. He was mostly playing with Firedragons and had some rag tag stuff like a troop of harloquins and rangers etc. He lured out a lot of my guys further away while he kept his three transports of troops on the edge center of the board. It took me until turn three to get out snikrot to sneak in ghazkull. At that time he had unloaded a bunch of troops that was going to hop back in their skimmer and go contest or control an objective next turn. I had three of his troops about ready to assualt so I snuck in ghazghkull with snikrot on the back board of the edge but.....I forgot to declare all my assualts at the same time and move everyone up which allowed him to GTFO and move over to where the objectives were contesting them and during his last turn he was able to wipe out the remaining guyz I had with those very same troops...I suffered a Major Loss.

This one I can say I lost due to inexperience and getting a head of myself and forgetting to do some VERY important stuff. Otherwise I would had either Tied or got a minor Victory.

Second Game:
I was playing against Imperial Guard. This was the Pitched Battle so once again I held Ghazzy in reserve with snikrot! His entire first turn he couldn't get off any commands. I really did terrible with my mega nobs and getting them accross the board because they never saw combat... :( Since I am used to using trucks and just going 19 inches and who cares if they get shot (On the count that everyone else in my shop doesnt have armies that can deal with meganobs.) I am used to them being safe...needless to say I believe I was being too caucious with them.

At the end of the game I had killed about a fourth of his army. I snuck Ghazghkull in where his objective was and kicked him out of it but he was barely able to reclame it because he had a half an inch to squeeze past my Ghazghskull and reclaim it on his last turn...Minor Loss for me because of a 1/2 an inch I didn't think was there! Otherwise It would had been a tie problably!

Third Game: Waaaagh! Another Ork Player!
This weird deployment through me off cuz I never practiced it! He had moved up his Battle Wagon full of Burna Boys and Skorched 5 boyz.....15 times.. Wiped out that squad....Well Ok ...He just totalled a lot of my boyz. I had one boy squad. My Ghazskull and one Meganob. What I shoulda done is not under estimate his nobs and sent my Meganobs to deal with his Super Nob Squad. I had some Killer Cans that held off a boyz squad the whole game and I killed off Two Battle Wagons and a few other things here and there. Still He got my by a Minor Victory!

Well I never practice and half my army was borrowed so I can't complain to much. Overall it was fun as hell and even though I came in second to last out of 19 people! I still did better then the other guy who came to Ard boyz with me.

Given you live in Oregon maybe he was French Canadian?

What army were you playing, it was hard to tell. Did you read the missions ahead of time or practice at all?

French Canadians are on the other side and probably offended that you confused their province with the other ones.

Edit: Oh and I'm mildly indignant that I didn't get to go to Semis and 'Meh, I didn't read up on it or anything but showed up .'

It's all about where you play, I guess.

I never practice missions a head of time. I play one or two games a week in about a 759-1500 area and most of what I play is casual. I just expected to at least win one game. A minor victory or a tie but I messed up both chances to do that.

My Orks list was pretty decent, I should had won or at least tied against the eldar player I played first but I forgot a that Crucial step in declaring and moving up all my assaults at the same time. The Imperial Guard guy was fun but he just got lucky with being able to squeeze past my guys with a half an inch and the Other Ork player just crushed me the first two turns.

BTW. If any of you see or know a guy named Matt Small say hello to him for me!

FYI, I'm not bagging on you or the way you play. Reading up on and practicing missions, reading up on the quote meta, playing test and timed games is all part of a different style of play. Happens to be what I enjoy.

I am bagging on the fact that the store you played Prelims at had a pretty 'casual' attendance.

Not the first variation of prelim 'Ardness that I've heard.

Look on the bright side, at least you had fun!

I'm no expert so I could be totally off, but am I understanding that you can use Snikrot to outflank Ghaz? Is that legal?

Not Outflank technically, but using Snikrot's special ability. And yes, it's entirely legal.

LoL, I live in New York so I am very aware where those Quebecois people are. I was thinking more along the lines is it is in proximity to the border so there is a chance you had some displaced French Canadians!

Well its all cool...oh and btw @rabidaskal

yeah...no one else there believed it....and after the judge got done reading through a printed up GW FAQ...the rulebook and the rules on Snikrot....he had no choice but do deem it legal...cuz well it is.

If anything My stunt I pulled with sneaked in Ghazy must had made some kinda impression. And eventually I am sure I will get good enough to be able to place a little higher next time. I mean last year I got massacred twice and got a major victory only because my last opponent was from my shop and he had only played like a couple of games before. The guys before him couldn't go that year and he was the only one left lolz.

But yeah it was all fun so I hope to go next year too!
