After over 7 years of dodging and feeble excuses over the next 2 weeks I will be moving in with Mrs Squilverine. Asides from no longer being able to lay about in my pants, farting and watching dvd's on my days off any more I am quite looking forwards to the whole thing.

In preparation for this we spent most of the weekend clearing out her garage which has become a dumping ground for lat 5 years or so life crap and other boxes of guff which people seem to accumulate over a lifetime.

Some of the more unusual items we found include several odd socks, whos partners still live in the chest of drawers, a rather natty wine bottle holder made from metal in the shape of a cowboy, a miniature game of air hockey and the cd single of Lou Begga's Mambo no. 5

However we did manage to locate Mrs Squil's current passport and about £15 in notes and coinage.

So people of Dakka, what stuff have you come across whilst having a clear out? The more bizzarre and unexplained the better!

Does the German helmet and machine gun ammobox(full) I found in my grandpa's garden when digging a pond count?

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags.

Must have been around the year 2000 and a friend was about to convert his garage into an extra room for his house. He's lived there about 3 months or so and hasn't really investigated the garage much, it's full of old newspapers, broken furniture etc etc. We spend a couple of days and fill a couple of skips with rubbish ( overnight the obligatory mattress appeared in accordance with the laws of physics) and then we find this extra brick wall has been built in the garage, really badly built and serving no purpose. So we start knocking it down and discover that for some reason the previous owner has entombed various household pets in this construction over the decades he'd lived there. Not pleasant at all.

Freaked us all well out when we first started finding these bones, it we hadn't seen the first couple of cat skulls we were getting ready to call the police in case we'd stumbled upon some grisly hidden murder scene or similar.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Wow, reds8n, I would have panicked at the sight of the first bones and called the police without thinking twice.

The only thing I found was quite strange. I was walking around our garden when I found a butterfly impaled with a skewer. Confused, I picked it up (by the skewer of course) and saw that the skewered was flayed out at the end. That was when I realised I had found that missing arrow from a few weeks before.

Just after college, was helping a friend clean out his apartment.... Apparently, a previous occupant, and the landlord hadn't done a good job.... We found a total of 20 baggies of pot hidden throughout the place.

I'm moving house at the moment and so far I've found 35,000 Azeri Manat, which is worth about £6. I've never been to Azerbaijan.

I've also found a Bodhran.

Found under my bed once £100 in £20 notes in a game case that i never bought or had the console for.
The funnier part was that i was looking for loose change (already checked in the sofa) to buy a new game. :d
