How many other game company models do you incorporate into your GW army? I've seen others "sneak" in a few warmachine models and other game companies models into a GW army...buy putting them on GW bases &/or partially converting/mixing the parts into the army, etc....

Are you talking entire models from another company (Like using Asphxyious from Warmachine as a Necron Lord) .. or using parts from a company like Chapterhouse or Pig Iron to individualize your force?

Why would people put other brand stuff in their army? It makes no sense.

I've seen people use warjacks as dreadnoughts & sometimnes a gw dread has a warmachine weapon on it...also I've seen a guy use Khador man-o-war models as termies.....Done right, they fit okay.....

That's a different kettle of fish then if using pieces from chapterhouse and such, but it's all GW for me.

Blood Angel army.
3-4 Mutant Chronicles figs modified with GW parts.
1 Spacelords Sarkadin figure converted to standard bearer
1 Spacelords Bunker Breaker converted to Chaplain.

Why?
The Mutant Chronicles was a combination of having them but not having a use for them, and saving some $.
The Spacelords figs were partially because of cheapness (found in a stores bargain bin), but mostly because thier armor looks like early space marine armor and it adds a bit of charachter to the army. Here's a few pics, please forgive my infantile painting skills, these were painted about 10 years ago.



Imperial Guard army.
I presently use all GW figs, with Pig IRon heads to make the army a bit more unique. I'm planning on adding a platoon of Wargames Factory Shock Troops (greatcoats) with PIron russian-style heads just to have some unique troops and have the option to do an all-infantry force.

My IG is a mixture of GW and other minis.
My Space Wolves will probably turn out to be all GW minis except for the bases.

But GW aren't the only company using that style of slotta base. Warzone and a couple of other manufacturers use them as well.

I use my old Warzone Capital marines as scouts for my SM and nobody has complained at me - as they work in that area.
Of my 15 drop pods, ONE is a plastic GW model. Three are miniaturescenery 'troop landers' and the rest (11) are foam card and cardboard constructions built from the old French GW templates (with added bits).
I use Old Crow turrets for some of my Guard tanks (Hydra, manticore and Basilisk guns are all from them), and ENTIRE Pig Iron vehicles as my Leman Russes.

My guard infantry also use a large proportion of non-GW models. I can't understand the mindset of being locked into ONE company's product (I started 40k with RT, when YOU HAD to use alternates because the REAL thing wasn't available and it has stuck with me).

If you do Warhammer F, its much easier to get non GW mini's.

For my Eldar, its possible to find stuff but you really gotta look hard. I found a number of cool mini's at Mealstrom to be a Farseer replacement or Autarch.

Its really worth looking around. Some amazing mini's out there.

I'm currently using the Ironraven, Justicar form Reaper's Warlords line for my Mephiston.

Well, FW models but I guess they count as GW models.

It makes me sad though that GW is so anal about this. You can't even talk about 3rd party stuff at my local store.
