Hello everyone. I have a feeling I will be getting into Airbrushing soon and I thought I would post here for some info about it. A friend of mine has one and is going to break me in on using them and I will end up buying my own for sure I imagine.

I have been looking at Iwata, and they seem to catch my eye more then anything else I have looked into.

Good anyone offer some help or any kind of insight on this?

There is a ton of airbrush info in this forum... do a quick search and you will be very happy.

As to Iwata specifically. I have an Iwata AB and compressor and they are both great.

I have the Iwata Eclipse HP-CS and the Smart Jet compressor.

Their customer service is really amazing too - I broke my compressor at one point, and with literally NO questions asked, they sent me out the part for free per our phone conversation - they weren't even interested in when or where I bought it. That said, there are several good 'cheaper' options, that you will find in your search. If you are willing to spend the money though, you will certainly be happy with the Iwata.

In addition to a quick search, there's a handy Airbrushing Article that you should read.

What is airbrushing?
*runs to read article*

NO! that should definitely NOT be a rule!!!! Thats just gross! I don't want some slaanesh warrior charging me, Screaming a BloodLust filled roar, with his Jolly Roger Flopping around!!!! Thats just gross! I mean.....if it was a female warrior and she wasn't that bad looking, I think I could capture a few prisoners. My 'Interrogation' skill will be most useful then - Commissar NIkev

Is the car window washer suggestion from that article legit?

Seems loopy.

Well some folks to swear by 'Windex' as a thinner... I used a 7:1 distilled water:Isopropyl Alcohol (91-99%) mixture for a long time - but when I got my new AB, with a much smaller tip, I realized that a proper AB thinner/medium is really just the best way to go - because it will keep the paint wet the longest and dehydrates the slowest.

That said, car window washer fluid might be different from windex even - it likely has some sort of anti-freeze component that will at the very least, make it something you don't want to be inhaling.
