Last night when I was looking through some White Dwarf's, I suddenly came to the idea of mounting Imperial Guard on Lord of the Rings Wargs..
What do you think of this idea, and can someone upload some size comparison photo's of imperial guard next to a Warg?

I can't upload anything mate, but that sounds like a pretty cool idea. I'd consider using rough riders if they didnt look so unfuturistic, even for the dark ages of the Imperium, they still just look like left over mongols from another game...That and thier WS is still only 3!

Ooo, and you know what, you might try to put some sort of chainsaw on the end of thier lances, that would look seriously metal...

Yes, I don't like the GW rough riders either, though I'll just use some normal cadians.

You could always use some of the boars from WHFB Ork Boar Boys, it might work out cheaper as you can buy a kit from GW with just the Boars, I have a box of them at home for a project im planning down the road, when I get home I can take a picture if no one else does sooner.

LotR uses a smaller scale than 40k, I believe, so going by that the wargs would look a tad bit small with Cadians or whatever mounted on top. Try it out though, and post pics! I've always loved the idea of cavalry where the beast can also rip out enemies' throats, i.e. wolves or bears.

No pity!
No remorse!
No fear!

@ Catyrpelius, nice idea but I don't really think those boars will match with Cadians though pictures are always welcome.

@romeo.lima, I know they use a smaller scale, that's why I'm asking for some comparison pics.
as soon as I think the scales will match and I got the money for this project I'll definitely post some pics.

@Flinty, I saw those rough riders of you sometime before on dakka, I really love them though I think those go beyond my conversion skills.

Considering the amount of fiddling you would need to do to make Cadians fit onto wargs, I don't think the difficulty level is too different. It does depend on the kind of feel you're looking for in your army. Wolf-riding rough riders would be nifty
