I'm looking at painting up some of my Orks as Evil Sunz but am really struggling to paint anything red.

I want a really bright Red. I want the colour of GWs Blood Red.

I've tried with Black, white, mechrite red undercoats. But Blood Red is just so thin and either comes out too patchy, pink or most often oranage. Other reds I've tried are too dark.

Can someone please help me?

Use army painter's spray on red if you can get away with it as that is the fastest option.

Otherwise, do a white undercoat, then white+red mixed together as a second layer, and then one or two coats of the thin blood red on top of that. Add a baal red wash to even it out a bit more and that should be incredibly bold red.

Alternatively, try a different paint range with higher pigment levels in their bright red (Vallejo and P3 will meet this requirement I think).

I use red gore undercoat which with 2 or 3 layers leaves a nice base and then put blood red on that or if it still doesnt do it well do a 50/50 before the blood red. and if you want it really bright add in a 50/50 blood red blazing orange for a nice final highlight
