I had an idea for a Apoc Datasheet for Blood Angels. It's an extension of an idea from one of my squads.

My datasheet is for 1 Chaplain Dreadnought and 3+ Death Company Dreadnoughts. The idea is that the Chaplain Dread gets Fleet (To keep up with the DC Dreads) and the DC dreads get the abilities from the Liturgies of Blood. (Re-roll to hit and either re roll to wound or re-roll failed armor penetration) . Question is, what point value do I do? 50+ price of models, 100+?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I reckon 100pts should do it. Sounds Good but would get bogged down relatively easily.

Okay, I've been on a bit of a hiatus 2011-14

An interesting idea for it could be that they may drop pod in. The rule could be that all of the dreads come in at the same time (so 1 reserve roll) and you place the chappy dread and roll scatter, then the DC dreads have to land within 6 inches of the Chappy's pod with no scatter. If that was the case then I think about 100 pts + models would be good.

Honestly, 50pt + models...

BUT.. ,and it HAS to be this way to properly mimic the Chaplains's ability, they have to be a vehicles squad.

In other words, 8 las cannons hit an glance/penetrate: you need to distribute them across the entire squad.

Plus, following normal squad rules, they all have to be within 4" of each other and no one model in front of the other may grant cover to any model in the squad.

well, WTH, it's in the normal rules book you can find it.

Also, I guess the numbers are fine as it is, but, once again, if you really wanted to mimic the feel of the men on the ground, you'd need at least 4 DC dreads and the Librarian acting as their Sergeant.

so C-D + 4+ DC-Ds.

I can flat out tell you I'd never let the formation fly unless they counted as a squadron, but that's me.

Oh wait, once last thing...

Being a squad does open up a big can of worms and the re-roll hit doesn't quite hit the spot so it needs some more sugar and Spice ...

Hmmm....

Well, hell, they're raging Dreadnaughts right?

1) RAGE: All the DC -Ds should suffer from Rage, however as long as the Chaplain-D remains, you may move and shoot as normal. If he gets nized however, they should just flat out go flying rodent gak crazy and rage on! Go Red Thirst!

2) Also, they're raging Dreadnaughts for God's sake! They should ignore the effects of difficult terrain as they move, their purpose drives them on, through, and beyond any obstacle!
