Title says it all.

What's your favorite unit/[special]character/vehicle/apocalypse unit/apocalypse formation
and
why?

Is it awesome when outfitted in a certain way, converting or painting reasons, best when coupled with another unit or ability, or just plain tacticalcreed on its own?

Damn, this is a hard one if I say so myself . Can't decide.

Nob bikers with power klaws, eavy armor, cybork bodies, and twin linked shootas. Too many points to be worth a full squad but so much fun to do it anyway. So much speedy killyness. Attach Wazdakka and watch people cry.

The greater good needs some moo.

My reaction was to take said die, and hurl it out the window of the 3rd floor of our student union. I then placed a Commissar model next to the rest of my dice pile. They immediately began performing much better.

My HQ hands down.

Choas sorc with MoT, Wings, Gift of chaos, Winds of chaos.

Flying around the feild and spawning up to 2 chaos spawn a turn makes me smile.

I have had up to 8 on the board at once. Was vs IG and he for the life of him could not kill any of them in CC. But they didnt do any better in return.

Either an eldar seer council, due to its durability, and ability to munch most things in one round.

OR

Vindicators. Awesome models, and who doesn't love three S10 AP2 templates a turn?

Battlesuits and Nobz don't, thats who!

Single best game-wise? Manticore

What other weapon fires D3 S10 large blast ordnance in barrage mode (no cover + shoot at what it can't see)? The only other single most effective unit in the regular game of 40k is the deathstrike missile launcher which can make everything within a 24" blast diameter simply disappear.

As for favorite, mini-wise, I'd say probably something out of the Chaos range.

As for fluff, I'd probably say wraithguard.

Grey Knight Grand Master. If only he had more WS, he might actually have been one of the best HQs in the game instead of being "just" good.

Also, fluff-wise, find me a loyalist marine who's more powerful than a Grey Knight GM. Obviously not counting Marneus "Pretty Boy" Calgar and his stolen power fists.

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

Obviously not the best in the game... but they're up there I guess, depends on how you look at it. /shrug

The fact that they're single vehicles mean they're prone to early toasting. Very early toasting.

Errm. Actually, manticores are what? AP4?

EDIT- Actually, you just love IG enough to blindly declare sub-par vehicles the best eh? Are chimeras with dual heavy flamers the best too?

9 Killa kans. Ranging from 360 - 450 pts they can lay down fire, have ok armor ( AV 11) and are str 10 in close combat. KANS ROCK! Add is a big mek with a kff behind them and they are almost unbeatable - especially in low point games.
