But as they are infantry would you be able to deep strike Legion of the Damned and move a rhino up and get in next turn?

LotD are Relentless, though (via Slow and Purposeful). You can move them, and still fire to full effect with everything you've got.

I'm guessing by "extra mobility", he means that the Rhino can move 12", compared to the random movement LoD usually have.

But can they do something other units can't?

For near the cost of a termie, you get a 3+ invul, which is nice, but they only have normal tac marine equipment and can only access special and heavy weapons for a very high price.

Yeah, they are slow and purposfull. With that disadvantage come the advantage of being relentless. Which means the can move, fire heavy and RF weapons as though they were stationary, and still assault.

The best way to run them is with meltagun/multi-melta/power fist and deep strike them with a Librarian in tactical dreadnaught armor/Gate of Infinity. It's a great tank hunting unit.

That great 7 wound unit also costs 370 pts...thats more than 5 MM/HF speeders

And still only MEQ status vs. Small arms. In template/flamer formation... ewww.

There's relly only one reason to run the Legion, and that's a fluff list. And if you attach a Librarian to the squad, or embark them in a Rhino when playing with a fluff list, you should smack yourself in the face with a hammer.

Plus before the game you can only attach models with Aid Unlooked For to them. Otherwise (by RAW) both are destroyed when they would arrive normally.

Nah im not using them for the fluff actually just cause i like the models and background.
