Ok, I know the sort of fire that gets started on some threads here in YMDC, but I have a question. It is very fluffy. When a BA Landraider deepstrikes in, can you declare a ram or tank shock with it, incase you should scatter onto an enemy! Now, I know the answer is probably "no", but...

No, scattering onto the enemy would cause a Deep Strike Mishap, not a Ram or Tank Shock

Whilst it would make sense to have the same rule as the monolith (infantry underneath get shoved aside) they don't.

Like valk says, you mishap.

Yup a huge landraider deepstricking onto one grot can result in the landraider and all inside being destroyed.

On Dakka he was Eldanar. In our area, he was Lee. R.I.P., Lee Guthrie.

Not infantry, "enemy models". The monolith rules do not specify between infantry and vehicle.

Yea that's pretty awful isn't it.

Or even a friendly model?

Ya, like I said, I figured the answer was NO (actually knew it was according to RaW) It was just a funny idea a buddy and I had thought of before our game the other day. Would be funny though.

Well I think it's a great idea, in my group we all generally like the idea that deep striking TANKS (not non tanks or troops etc) should all count as tank shocking or ramming if they deviate onto anything, friendlies included. Since the drop pod rules originally came out...

We assumed that a player could never aim for anything intentionally (per the placement rules).

You can tank shock/ram out of deep strike (instead of mishapping) if my daemons can assault your units out of deep strike (instead of mishapping). I'd even be willing to fight assaults against the passengers of your transports.

That'd be fair, right?

Big, scary daemon using its big, scary weapons to claw apart the guy blocking its entry into the world is just as reasonable as using drop pods as bombs.

In a fun game, as a house rule, sure I think so!

It would really make for some fun tactics, and VERY interesting battles.

Ipso facto auto-hit.

You could always have the models make an int test to see if they came move out of the way, as a house rule.

Ya. I was thinking that they would just act as if they were getting tank shocked. If the death or glory succeeds, then the vehicle is forced to mishap as it normally would have(unless it is wrecked or explodes)

Ipso facto auto-hit.
