I used to collect space marines and orks when i was much younger, though i never knew what i was doing with them. Recently Ive rediscovered them and have started painting a small squad of legion of the damned. I really want to learn how to play but none of my friends are interested. I was hoping there was someone (20 years old +) in the North Wales, Conwy area that may be interested in teaching me how to play.

Get yourself over to Acme in Llandudno, right near the train station. Ask Alex or Rob for a quick demo game and they'll teach you the basics in less than an hour. They have an Ork and a Marine Demo game for you to use. There is a crowd of us between 20 and 30 that turn up there regularly and there is a 1k point weekly tournament starting soonish. Game nights are Friday when the store stays open till the boss turfs everyone out, usually about 9pm. As with most stores there is a group of younger players, a couple of them are alright (Hi Sam!) but there are a couple of over sugared, hyper show offs as with every store.

You know what we need a Welshman Thread on Dakka to unite us all and co-ordinate as many gamers. I live in Cardiff but grew up, up north and went to Uni in Aberystwyth. It would be awesome if we could start co-ordinating the Welsh gaming community.

yeah a welshman thread first forum that supports gods country would be great i like in flintshire right near the boarder with chester and the welshman jokes do were thin we need to stick together. also if anyone is interested in friendly games of 40K warhammer (new ed) or LotR or war of the rings i have a quite well equiped games room with 6X4 table and a few draws full of scenery and have armies (more than i can list) for all the above main games ( some are even painted reasonable well ) as i said i am in flintshire so give us a shout if you are interesetd

also just started warmachine ( not played yet but have 2 full 50pt MK2 armies again nearly finished painting them but would love to learn from a more experinced player)

anyway only about 15 min drive for me well 20 at speed limits as am only just outside mold

were exactly is it as does not realy say on facebook page and howmany normally attend, how big is the place etc

would love to hear more as could be very tempted if the wife lets me out on a friday

Specifically it takes place at the "Skylight Room" studio there, as seen on the website. Best bet is probably to send a Facebook message to Kieran, the group admin person for the Facebook page, as it can be tricky to find the room.

I'm not sure how many regular attendees they have now, but they have enough tables to do three 4' x 4' games or two 6' x 4' games, plus maybe some cardgames/boardgames etc. Attendance in the past has varied from about 3 people (me, my son, and the organiser!) to more like 20-25. I've not made it down for a few weeks but have the impression that there's usually a couple of games of 40K or Fantasy going on on Fridays.

hi any more info on the wilderness farm gaming club as me and at least 2 friends pos 4 would like to come along this friday but cannot find it on the map and the facebook page is not that helpful one of us lives in gwersylt so directions from the train station/lidle car park would help cheers H

From Lidl car park, head left, over the bridge, straight on at the roundabout, head to the end of that road, take a left onto the main road (Llay New Road), then the next right is Pont-y-Capel lane. You drive (carefully as it's windy and dark) down that road, going left at the fork, and Wilderness Farm is on the right after about 5 min. You probably want to get in touch with Kieran via the Facebook page and swap phone numbers with him, though, as there's a few buildings on the farm and it's not necessarily that easy to spot the studio.

thats great thanks do many people attend and what does it cost is it a big place is there lots of scenery on hand i.e can we just turn up and play

As I say, been a while since I was there regularly, but I will try and get down this Friday (might be a bit late though). So, I don't know how many regular attendees they have, or precisely what the start time is -- try sending Kieran a Facebook message. There are at least 3 tables though, and enough scenery for all of them. Cost is £2 I think.

Uh, I suspect duanzao321 is a spammer and fake user (have alerted mods). Half his post is a direct cut-and-paste of mine, and the other half sounds bogus as there is no "store" or "boss" at Wilderness Farm! It's a farm, in the middle of nowhere, not a games shop.

GamesRoomClearout2010, aka "Tony Heath" aka "AJ Heath" aka "SBUCastings" aka "heathScenery" apparently has interest in your gaming club because he was forcibly expelled from his previous one, "the Deeside Defenders".

He was expelled from the Deeside Defenders because he has been engaging in illegal recasting and selling of models, as well as the occasional mail/wire fraud via Ebay and Paypal in the toy soldier markets. There is information on this at Peter Pig Miniatures, the Miniatures Page TMP, the Warhammer Forum, etc. Forge World has an active investigation against him for recasting their models. Paypal has an active investigation into him for wire fraud.

I'm sure he'll make a GREAT addition to your club, however!

Wow, Read that PETER PIG piece. I think we need an area on Dakka setup for this, to warn off people about the less "Wholesome" side of the hobby and to be alert to it. The problem being I think we need to watch the Libel side of things in the UK. As I haven't despite all the evidence to the nefarious activities and Identities , seen a Conviction. If there is solid evidence of conviction, you can host up their names as this is Public Information available from the Courts under freedom of Information.

Why do people insist on doing this to our wonderful hobby? Nothing is sacred is it? where there is money to made there will be crime...
