I have recantly started playing FPS on my PC again they run pretty well except, my frame rate will drop to like 2 for no reason at all, and I was wondering if this is because of my grahpics card or something else?

thanks for the help.

You'll want to post your full specs, so that we can see what might need upgrading.

Definatly thing you need a new graphics card. If your going top of the line, Radeon id faster then GeForce right now, if your going midline take your pick of something comparable. I would recomend getting something that fully supports DX11

If your not wanting anything super expensive you could look into getting an nvidia 9800gtx+. It's a good little card and handles any game I've thrown at it with no problems. Your system doesn't show any reasons why it would randomly drop to 2 fps unless everything on screen decided to blow up at the same time while trying to process semi realistic physics. Run a check on your hard drive and make sure theres nothing wrong wtih it as well as a basic spyware/virus check.

The greater good needs some moo.

Jup, just like the others say, you definitely need a new graphics card.

maybe this site will help making a choice: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/charts/graphics-cards,1.html
you can choose the quality and a benchmark if you want to narrow it down.

by the way, if you want to use DX11 you need Windows 7 or vista. just a reminder

I run a 5600 and it is stupid lightning quick. I can run Crysis at very high and anti aliasing at 16X (I think it goes that high), and my card is like "meh". I also have a 6 core with a terabyte hard drive. If the 5600 is that good, I know the 5750 is just kickass.

QFT. I run one. It's stupid-crazy-awesome. Only criticism I have is that it seems to suffer a lot of device failures on Vista, which means you have to disable/enable the card and subsequently restart your comp. Doesn't happen often though, but it is annoying.

Me, I just need more RAM. And a better cooling fan. Then I'm happy as clams in mud
