And for those of you about to bring up Maelstrom's slow order system, that's mostly a GW problem. I was also given the go-ahead to post this, from Chris at Maelstrom:

Hi there,

There is nothing we can do about the Games Workshop situation. They
seem to be getting worse everytime we order and are now even messing
up our orders randomly which is getting very annoying.

We are waiting for confirmation from GW about the Honoured Imperium as
they might be selling it as direct only soon. Which again is very
annoying. As soon as we know what is happening with them we will
refund the item or get it sent out as quick as possible.

We can only apologise for any delays with orders. Our suppliers are
getting ever more awkward with getting hold of items and we are doing
our best to get the orders sent out. Considering our best week is
3000+ packages we feel we are getting more complaints than we deserve
at times.

That was out a few days ago (the sale) and I took advantage of it (spent $100AUS). However I only bought 3 mini's which will fit into my Eldar army. The rest are paints (P3) and some Black Library novels.

Ka-Ching.

With GW constant price rises, lack of Codex updates (etc etc?!) Im not surprised so many people are moving to alt games. I see it a lot here in Aus. Mind you, people will always play 40k or warhammer, but moving into other games means less money for GW.

Back on topic, I found Mealstromes sale didnt save me too much. About $5 (which im NOT complaining about woo!). I just find the sales there are already good and when you add their special savings, it just overwrites whats already there. So if you buy a mini and its 10% off, you then purchase to cart, add in the savings code which saves you 17%. You dont get the added 27%, just the highest saving which in this case is the 17%. Again, not complaining, just the specials dont get me all that excited and Ill buy anytime rather then when they send me specials via email.

Overall, being in Aus, we love the fact that its free shipping. That alone gets us to buy at Mealstrome (and buying GW stuff in-store is +50%).

I brought this up because it's a Warmachine/Hordes sale. I don't know what WM/Hordes models sell for in Australia (I've never seen a Privateer Press model in the flesh in my life - the Australian gaming scene is pathetic), but still, the sale might help someone.

No, you're right, the sales don't add too much because their prices are already discounted, so when they say 17.5% off, it's really just another 2.5% on what they normally do, and not a huge deal.

But yeah, a discount is a discount, and given it's 40%-50% off for us Aussies, plus free shipping, so we really cannot complain. Might be different in other countries (certain board members pay attention!), so it's always good to check with local stores.
