I am in the process of building a battlewagon, and need a couple of quick answers:

Is it legal to attach every gun, and not the claw arm thing?
What the hell does the claw arm thing do?
Where is a good place to buy some grots to use as crew?
Also, I believe the massive front jaw makes it look way too similar to almost everyone else's battlewagons, is it worth buying the Deffrolla upgrade, or should I try and scratch build one?

You can have up to a 4 "small guns"(Big shootas and rokkit launchas), one "big gun"(a kannon, lobba, or zappkannon), and one Killkannon, making for a max of six weapons.

The claw arm is a Grabbin' Klaw, which is an optional item that grants the fallowing ability: At the beginning of the enemy Movement Phase, nominate an enemy vehicle within 2" of the grabbin' klaw. On a roll of 4+ it may not move this turn. Note that the Grabbin' Klaw is NOT a weapon.

Easiest way to get grots is to buy a box of them. The box is currently $15 standard price for 10 plastic grots and a runtherd. Alternatively you can use Goblins from Warhammer Fantasy.

The massive jaw is the Reinforced Ram, is is also an optional item. The Deffrolla is arguably the ork's most reliable anti-tank tool, and is a beast in general. If you don't care to buy the Battlewagon Upgrade Sprue, which comes with other nice bits too, scratch-building one shouldn't be too hard with a bit of PBC piping or such.

Also, the gun manned (orked?) by the grot, does that count as a small gun?
I'm guessing the main gun is a kannon/zapp gun, so does that mean the kilkannon isn't included in the kit?

A gun is a gun, whether it's being manned by an ork, gort, or is in an enclosed turret.

The main battlewagon kit indeed only comes with the kannon and zapp gun. The upgrade kit comes with the lobba and killkannon, and also has a grot rigger holding a wrench.(And of course the deffrolla)

Should you want rokkitlaunchas you'll have to do some converting on your own.

you can magnetize the two turret weapons so that you can swap the back and forth. I think, with some minor modification, can magnetize the killcannon as well.

Lastly, you can magnetize the ram and the deff roller to make them swappable as well.

Or use bolts like I did
