I was just flicking through codex blood angels this morning when I made an alarming discovery.

Brother Captain Tycho is shown early in the colour pages, in his nice shiny gold armour. His face appears old and gnarled, and his hair and stubble are clearly grey (See here)

A few pages later Tycho is shown again in his black Death Company armour... Even though this is chronologically later in his life, Tycho is now blonde again and appears much more healthy and youthful!

Is it true that Black Rage can reduce the signs of aging?

- Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Um, since the Black Rage gives intense strength and vitality to the marine who suffers from it, couldn't appearing younger be *possible*? I mean, those marines in the Death Company are physically more powerful than the "average" marine, and since their vitality increases, and it takes a lot more to kill them, it would make some sense to be a bit younger-looking. Another theory is that since they are experiencing the genetic memories and imprint of Sanguinius ' death, so those genes could potentially alter the marines' appearance closer to that of Sanguinius, that is younger and more healthy, since they contain his genetic material.

And, if you don't look at it fluff-wise...that picture you supply is just on painter's idea of Tycho's appearance as a demonstration of the model, so he could very well be already blonde and young before he enters the Death Company.

It's simple.

The psychic stroke induced by the Ork Weirdboy gave him a shock of white hair and a rictus grin pulling his face into the wrinkly mess you see. When he succumbed to the Black Rage, the rage induced grimace cancelled out the stroke, and his face became as smooth as a new-born babes.

And then he stole some poor recruits scalp.
