The back of my mind

So I decided to use this thread to harbor progress and the pics of all the stuff I uploaded to Dakka to ask for reviews and or advice in how to carry on with these things
(also the desire of sparing fellow dakkamites endless pointless threads of gostric "look at my new conv!" rants)

Without further ado...

----------------------------------------------------
Diorama project WIP:
"The Old wolves' last battle"

The scene set up idea:

A chaos dude mounting a chaotic aberration lands on an ol wizened granpa of a space wolf to settle some centuries old grudge
The old man ain't goin' down without a fight

The old wolf:

Used a fantasy torso and a terminator set of legs as you can see.
The idea to convey is that he still keeps a chain-sword and some parts of his armor.
I actually like the idea of a 40k character WITHOUT a backpack and in this case it reinforces the fact that he's out of the game,if he had a backpack then its probably a cabin ornament or been turned into a salamander stove.

The beastie:

had all these spare broken parts that I mishmashed into this aberration, obviously needs some green-stuff or epoxy to cover up the obvious pasting
But all in all I like the fact that the base is a wolf body as this would be a great mockery from Tzeentch to the dreaded enemies of his signature symbol chapter the K sons

The Spiky mareen on-top his mount:

Basically I had these chaos mounted rider with hand sockets and thought the SOB flamer gun fitted perfectly,so I added a raptor pauldron and a chaos Backpack in order to attempt to water down the fantasy armor aspect of the guy.
The horn broke but I like it more that way as it gives that battle hardened damage look

-------------------------------------------------------
So whatcha guys think? Should I put these guys in different bases or do a large tundraic diorama presenting the confrontation?
Should I put a log cabin nearby?

How can JRPG's stay alive with nowhere to expand and develop?

They stay alive because Japanese people love seeing a rainbow's assortment of hair colours, people with animal ears, wings, or tails, clothes that even a blind guy wouldn't wear, and cookie-cutter angsty teenage-hero characters that all have some life-shattering unique, heartfelt sad soppy story.

Likewise, many people in the West are slowed to some degree, and they think that the storylines and characters are actually of a decent quality. Generally, these people are in the 12-16 bracket and/or are the same crowd that think the Twilight movies are the best films ever produced/books ever written.

Log cabin and picket fence would be awesome

Maybe you should move this to the Blogs section if you plan on updating it?

@ Zydragon:

I be starting to have a devious idea that will put my limited diorama mounting knowledge to the test!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another thingie I m working on:

DISCO KROOT!

Actually he just looks kinda discoish due to the bell bottom pants the discarded sliced death jesters pair of legs I found seem to give him.
I m trying to see if I ll leave him like these or try to model some pimp overcoat around him or start a new kroot with a full funk outfit:
This in turn inspired for my next fantasy project: Funk and/or Pimp marines (could be the funk serve the emprah with musical faith n the pimps are slaneeshite heretics)

It s pretty obvious I m looking for an excuse to paste an afro on a space mareen...

This guys are for my Quixos inquisitor's retinue,no real reason to include em cept they fancied as standard skitari servitors that are as necessary to a retinue as little umbrellas are to tropical drinks

Pizza slic-er melee specialist dude (no name yet)

Here's the other servitor for the Inquisitor's retinue I planned:

Basically grabbed a wraith gun, filed and cutted it to give it a more Gatling practical weathered human hardware look with the help of one of those SOB backpacks.

NOte: I must say that the reason 99% of this stuff is unpainted is due to several reasons:
A) I lack the time and painting equipment (my brushes are really crappy) AND CASH to get them at the moment
B)Thinking of selling some of these and I don t want to spoil a potential buyer's joy in painting em
c)My painting skills are still very amateurish
d)remaining free time spent sleeping and/or attending the canine pet

These will look great painted. Are these striped models? They've got a weird "dusty" look to them. Look cool though!

If only ZUN!bar were here...

The back of my mind

The dusty look would be due to my offensive abuse of superglue methinks

And now for something completely different and apologizing for lack of updates-see,Im unemployed again and still on Skaven economy so no connection at home-

Here are my latest amusement pellets...

SQUATS!!!!!!!

Here's the first one I did (second I havent taken pics yet)

The Tau rifle was awesome when I realized the guy had this "ohwee, that was a nice shootin, time fer refreshment" wiping sweat off your brow look thingie.
Also gave him a Space Marine Backpack (following the "there can be no creatures without Backpacks in 40K" canon rule)

Here's another swan song,I thought that the space dwarves that can t be used in official events and rules anyway
I still cling to the little guys being artisans and all that so I thought a mechanichal mount of bronze should be perfect for them (and yeah, even though I hate warcraft ,back in wc2 that thor dwarf riding the gryph looked awesome and stuck)
That is,here's a space gryph wich as you will see in the last pic I still am not sure wether to give him a rider or not

The rider would have some lightning coming out of his "odin eye" (gargoyles reference?)
