Hi, just wondering if anyone would like to help with some maths work i need to do. I need the following questions answered by as many people as possible for a survey: How long do you spend watching TV a day (roughly) and how much time do you spend on the computer a day (roughly)

answers in hours please!

If you are gathering a numerical data for a statistics problem, you may do better to set up a simple survey in Survey Monkey.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Also these are statistical questions.

I spend roughly 1 hour watching TV

I spend 9 hours on a computer at work and 3 at home.

I spend about 5 hours watching TV (or at least, being in the same room as TV doing other things).

I spend 8 hours on a computer at work, and about 5 hours at home on the computer (on and off while doing other things).

That is a lot of time, but as I say, I'm not using the TV or computer constantly while at home, just refreshing a few sites every so often on the computer, and watching TV out the corner of my eye while I read or do some work etc.

I spend around 2 hours watching TV (or sitting in the same room as one, anyway...), and about 4 hours OTI.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Okay, so the male version of "Cougar" is now officially "Albatross".

I spend about an hour or less a day watching tv

I probably spend about 6 hours a day online, although it is far less at weekends (the 6 hours includes time spent surfing whilst at work)

TV: 2 hours per day while I'm painting. I assume that would count my work out DVD.

Computer: 6 hours per day at work, 2-3 hours at home.

In a sudden change of events, we (yes, i'm part of a group) need about 20 more results. Any method of collection on your part would help, ask family, friends, etc if you are willing to help. Please and thank you, especially to those that have already posted.

You can also use the old trick of "making up the numbers". Though you didn't hear this from me

Or just ask everyone in your class/year - I'm sure you will get 20 replies fairly quickly, especially if you answer their questions (assuming that they are doing maths surveys as well).

You should be careful interpreting your statistics, I think--given you've asked a question about computer use via a medium which requires use of a computer to see!
