I am going to get two friends into 40k, I had this impression that the battle for black reach was able to had for 50, but I'm not seeing it that cheap anymore, is it still the best deal around? Where's the place to get it?

Or...

Whats the best deal in general, if I don't care what armies I inflict (err buy for) upon my friends?

Sigh..

Have you checked out any of the discount mail order sites?

Do you have access to Google?

Please show me where you can get black reach for 50 bucks using those, since it's so easy - I'd like to know too!

@OP - You're reading old threads. AOBR has had a few price increases, so 70 bucks or so may be the best you can do without treasure hunting at the ends of the earth. It's still a good buy to get started with though - there sure isn't a better one (without going used on ebay, that is)

General Discussions aren't the place for 40k discussions

Anyway, it really depends on where you look. You might have a shop closing down nearby that's trying to break even and clear everything out. It also depends on if you're going to buy it off the net, which depend on where you live, but from what I've seen from other threads it's usually the warstore in the US and Maelstrom in some other places. Then it depends on what you're looking for. To get TWO friends started on 40k at the same time, I'd definately go with AoBR, but you can look around for previous starter sets on Ebay. You might not find them, but the previous sets had Tyranids and Dark Eldar (both with Space Marines) IIRC.

AoBR is awesome to start with if you've never played before, marines and orks are good starter armies. If it was me, I'd find the closest (good) game store that you can play at, and support them by purchasing there, but if you plan on playing at home forever, then by all means buy online
