OK so here is a list I'm thinking of running and I just wanted some thoughts on it.

HQ
Mephiston Lord of Death 250

Elites

Sanguinary Guard - Chapter Banner, 1 Inferno pistol, Death masks 265

3x Sanguinary Priest - jump pack, Bolt pistol, ccw, Melta bombs 240

Troops

Assault squad 10 man - 2x meltagun, sgt has power fist 235

Assault squad 10 man - 2x meltagun, sgt has power fist 235

Death Company 10 man - 2x power fist, thunder hammer, hand flamer, infernus pistol 305
Mounted in Land Raider Crusader - pintle mounted Multi-melta 260

Fast Attack

Vanguard Veteran squad - 1x pair of lightning claws, jump packs, sgt has thunder hammer 210

Anybody got any opinions on this list?

Things I'd lose. Death Masks, SP Melta Bombs, DC Hand Flamer and Infernus Pistol. With those 65 points you can give all 3 Sanguinary Priests power swords (make use of that WS5 and 2 base attacks when the IC rules force you to consolidate and pile in first), the Sanguinary Guard need a power fist and give both RAS sergeants bombs.

I'd also convert the pair of Lightning Claws to two singles. You gain more LC attacks and are less susceptible to wound allocation. The DC also need some power weapons to take advantage of FC.

If you've got the model or a decent "counts as" you might want to think about replacing the LR with a Stormraven. You gain an incredible amount of mobility and the lower PV allows you to bring a Locator Beacon and maybe a couple more DC.

Don't do this your SP are perfect as is. If you give them power weapons you'll be tempted to get them fighting in assault which is the last place you want them. Hide them at the back of the unit so they never make assault!

What I do question is why the Thunder hammers rather than just sticking with fists? Does the death company really need 3 fists? Maybe 1 is enough and spend the rest of the points on power weapons for more killing against MEQs/TEQs? Do they need a hand flamer? They'll nail hordes as is likewise the infernus pistol isn't likely to do much for you that the rest of the army doesn't already cover.

Assault squads are perfect. Lightening claws probably would be better split around the Vanguard squad.

Would the points on the Sanguinary guard better better spent on an Honour Guard squad and a Chappy to lead the death company (also using the points saved by dumping the TH sfor PFs and dropping the special DC pistols).

I pretty much agree with everything Sanguinary Dan pointed out. You'll have a much tougher army by incorporating his suggestions into your list.
