Sure Space Wolves Land Raider Pilot

Hi guys, right now i'm running space wolves and i really want to expand the army so i was thinking about making a 1500pt thunderwolf cavalry army.
Right now my only idea on what to use is Canis Wolfborn as an HQ and possibly a Rune/Iron Priest
Any idea would greatly help, I want this army to be only HQ's and thunderwolf cavalry if thats possible, The only real help i need is what my Thunderwolves should carry
Thanks!!!

I just ran them in a group of 5 Thunderwolf cavalry one with a pf and i had used a screen of 15 fenrisian wolfs. They ran up the left flank and both the wolfs and the cavalries unpredictable charge range was amazing. The wolfs did a lot of damage too, and if you keep them close to the cavalry they get to reroll moral which was clutch in the game. The only thing i would have changed was to take out the powerfist, it was over kill. Keep them cheap and they kill just about anything on charge.

You do realize that army list has absolutely 0 scoring units (wolves can't hold objectives). So, for the missions with objectives, I suppose you could just try to table your opponent.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby. |

Haha...I think the whole purpose of doing a Thunderwolf list is forgoing formalities and being as cruel and unusual as humanly possible...
I played a 2500 point test list with all thunderwolves and a smattering of Grey Hunters...it was VERY heavy handed and in many instances seemed unfair for the opponents.

Well the whole reason i want to run a thunderwolf cavalry is because i love converting things, since there are no models for thunderwolves i was going to use juggernauts and the mount space marines on them. What looks more badass than 15 space marines riding on juggernauts running across the board? not alot haha

Not sure how much juggernauts cost, but if they are $$ you can check out where i bought the wolf mount models

Great looking wolf models that come with marine legs in a saddle, all you need is some upper body parts.

I recently saw a space wolf army at a tournament that consisted of canis, logan, njal, 2 small units of wolf guard terminators and a big squad of thunderwolves. It actually played very well.

Hehehe thunderwolf spamming is unfair for every single army you are playing, maybe not a f***ing ork horde, but just about anything else

Oh Thunderwolves can bring SERIOUS hurt to an Ork Horde...you can hit them where you want and pick the army apart with the speed you have.
The last horde I fought was at 2000 points...120 Boyz...Lootas...so much green it was insane...I just moved my army to one side and rolled up on him. He had his guys so spread out that when I assaulted his Boyz I pulled them away from the other Boy groups and after annihilating them was about 20 inches away from the other boyz. Really, when hitting a horde like that, the key is to have as many high Initiative heavy hitters as possible. Not to mention, when you charge the Boyz, they need 6's to wound you.

Lol... Don't forget tho, BA can roll T-wolf calv pretty easily. Fear of the Darkness is insanely good against them. And if they get the charge, unless you spent 20 billion points to put SS's on the whole mob, they're probably gonna take a large chunk. Smart players can deal with calv pretty well. Course, a smart calv player can do the same.
