Baal Predator AC’s and Heavy Bolter Sponsons 145pts
Baal Predator AC’s and Heavy Bolter Sponsons 145pts

Basically Commander Dante with one squad, The priest each with another. Dreadnaughts Drop in with their Heavy Flamers and Blood Talons while the Baal Predators pick off targets which interest them. Everyone dropping out of the sky has Armor Hate. Is this viable? All my other list had a little of this, a little of that, where this list everyone drops in my opponents face and seeks Close Combat. Plus this list gains alot with Dante's Abilities.

Is there anything I should change? I had to take the Powerfist off of two squads to get the third priest, but I still get a power weapon in the squad.Oor I could take out a priest, everyone has Powerfist, and I add in an Attack Bike w/ Multi-Melta.

Let me know if you have any other ideas. Thanks!

I would change one Baal Pred to a Regular Pred with Lascannons, as you are putting all your anti-tank firepower into squad which arrive randomly, and have to get very close to get the full firepower from their Meltas.

Actually I think that you should drop both Baal Preds, as your tactic of "pick off targets which interest them" may just blow up in your face. You would need a plan beforehand and stick to it.

If you keep the BAALs try running them without the side sponsons. I found that Im constantly moving mine at least 12" per turn which dosn't afford the use of two weapons. The assault cannon will always be chosen over the bolter. It will give you the ability to keep moving 12" and it will save you 30 points per model

so the question is, should I drop the baal's all together? If so what should I replace them with? And if I just drop the side sponsons, would it be a good idea to use the points saved for an Attack Bike with Multi-Melta?

If you wanted to replace the Baal Preds, Typhoon or HF/MM Landsppeders might be a good idea, since they can deep strike, which fits with the rest of your army,

Better yet, you could put a Dreadnought or two in a Drop Pod, letting you get another pod down first turn, and have more units with good shooting and decent enough assault.

No flamers? Played orcs today (first time with my BA) and even after shooting 2 flamers, pistols, etc. and killing 9 boyz it took me 2 turns to finish em :/ Poor rolls, true, but you might need em!

Also a Libby w/ Shield and a pack is great in a jump army. Gives you a 33% chance to avoid lascannons and crap that cut down AM's. Also minimizes damage from things like Battlecannons and the like

Dude I think you should use the stormraven to taxi one of the F-Dreads I do it all of the time and it's glorious.

What do you use for your stormraven since there isn't a model for it?

Also, I had not thought of the Landspeeders, so I will think about that.

And for the libby, I did give that consideration but was worried about how small of number of squads I had so I was trying to flesh it out with armor or other units to draw fire or do their own damage.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Your army will arrive too peice meal. 2 Drop pods is rarely a good idea, stick to odd numbers.

dropping 1 Dread in their face turn 1 and having nothing else on the board except the preds will mean the enemy can concentrate on and decimate those targets.

I don't like ninja lists unless you have some means of ensuring you arrive in greater numbers than the random 4+ turn 2, 3+ turn 3...

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

Fling it now makes a good point about those drop pods. I re-emphasize what I said earlier. Replacing the Baal Predators with at least 1 more dreadnought in a pod is the best thing you can do for the army. In fact, with 290 points, you can afford 2 of them, one with a multi-melta and one with an assault or plasma cannon, depending on your fancy, both in a drop pod.

Hehe my SW Temptest's Wrath Psychic Power would have fun with this list. One test to jump, another to land, and a third to charge.

As a quick tip that I tell everyone, LC are statisitcally better than a Power Weapon. The wound rerolls usually make up for the lost attack, especially when you hit a MC or something tough like Plague Marines.

I hate hard counters. In a game of rock, paper, scissors, I hate playing any of the factions because no matter what you choose you might as well not deploy against your hard counter. I want to use a gun. Rock, paper, and scissors could all probably still beat gun, but gun will never feel like a game is a lost cause.

Switch power weaps to fists and drop the Dreadnoughts. You'll have one come down first turn and it will be isolated while the other comes in as and when.

I would add another Baal with the points or maybe a hard hitting unit; say Death Company.

I'd say that the list is pretty fine as it is, leave the infantry alone but change the Baal Preds and for godssakes give those pods locater beacons.

Glory to the Twelfth! Glory to Angron!

‎"Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls. The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does. That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."
