Tabletop Gaming News published details for the September releases. Amongst them is the Croak Hunter.

Some few anuras, a frog-like race commonly called “croaks” for their distinctive throaty calls, have made their way from the Shattered Spine Islands to chase both prey and adventure. The scouts and explorers known as hunters have developed a strong relationship with the gatormen of the Blindwater Congregation and will not hesitate to take up arms alongside these newfound allies. Croak hunters stalk their enemies from hidden positions before attacking them with spears dipped in deadly mixtures of natural poisons, including the toxins secreted by their own skin.

The Croak Hunter Solo comes in a blister (PIP 75026). A player may field up to three Croak Hunters for each warlock in a Circle, Legion, Skorne, Trollblood, or Blindwater Congregation Minion army.

The Blindwater Congregation seems to be the rumoured Gatorman minion 'contract'. Does anyone know anything about the 'Croaks' from the Monsternomicons?

Hmm...

*pulls out his copy of Monsternomicon 2*

They're a primitive race of jungle dwellers. No metalworking, so we likely won't see any heavy infantry coming from these guys. They are excellent climbers and swimmers and secrete their own poison.

The most intriguing bit of info is that they have sorcerers and all of them are conjoined. The one the book describes has two heads and four arms.

How big are they? Are they man sized or larger?

Human height, but a bit wider. I expect 5 damage points on this solo and a small base.

Oh man oh man oh man if they make a gatorman contract I am going to HAVE to buy them all. The anura are a good choice for an expansion, makes me wonder if they'll use the dracodile as a heavy warbeast too...

It has been suggested (not officially) that the minion book will be around the size of the Retribution book. This would leave an opening for five minion Warlocks, of which one could be a Croak (unless their fluff forbids it).

We know we're getting these:

Lord Carver, BMMD, Esq. III [Minion Farrow Warlock]
War Hog [Heavy Farrow Warbeast]
Gun Boar [Light Farrow Warbeast]
Thrullg [Solo]
Croak Hunter [Solo]
Gatorman [Unknown] (Gator preview image seen on PP forums)
Dr. Arcadius [Solo?] (Mentioned in NQ #31)

# PIP 75022 Minion Gatorman Warlock Bloody Barnabas – TBD
# PIP 75023 Minion Gatorman Blackhide Wrastler Heavy Warbeast – TBD

I wonder if one of these is the Gatorman previewed here:

Sounds like they will be heavily bayou/glades influenced. Cool. I like how PP uses U.S. cultural influences on their stuff. Really gives them a different feel to other games/gameworlds out there.

I bet the art is the Wrastler. Like WrongEye but bigger.

Snapjaw is already a melee beast I wonder what they have in mind for the wrastler, maybe free power attacks or something.

Two open fist, Tail, bite. First four attack beast?

Some kind of take-down manuever would be interesting. Chain attack- tackle?

Like a head-arm-lock combined. Just in case you dont take out all the boxes for a system/aspect.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

I've always loved the Gatorman concept, it's how lizardmen should look. I'm really happy that I have a decent reason to purchase a full up Gatorman Posse, Wrong Eye and Snapjaw, and whatever else they want to try and sell me. Bipedial gators FTW. I just have to figure out how to paint the scales properly...

I wonder if the Gatormen will be a little like Khador in that they have no light beasts (jack equivalent). Based upon the assumption that medium based Gators are Gatormen (Man-o-War equivalent).

I'm from the future. The future of space

If the Wrastler doesn't have chain attack:grab and smash, something is very, very wrong with PP's designers' brains.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.
