So I have a problem, my technique for painting bone and paper is basically the same. To try to make them different I end up making the paper very white, this doesn't look good.

Part of the problem is my limited range of paint, this I can sort out myself, my limited brush control (practise I suppose) and my limited range of knowledge. This is where you can help out.

So what techniques/colours do you use for painting paper and bone and how do you make them look different? Photos would be great but to be honest any help would be err helpful ???

If it helps my current technique for bone is

Prime Black
A coat or two of Bestial brown depending on how much I've thinned it.
A coat or two of Bleached Bone again depending on how thin the paint is.
A wash of Devlan Mud.
I then try to pick out the details in Bleached Bone, realise I don't have the control I want and end up dry brushing.
Dry brush white.

for bone I've been blending scorched brown to bleached bone and that's worked for me

For both, use graveyard earth, kommando khaki, then bleached bone.

Thanks guys might give both of those a go. I guess I'm just going to have to grab a bunch of browns and greys and try some things out.

In the future I might try to give the bone a more grey look and the paper a yellowey look.

For bone, try Dheneb Stone washed with Devlan Mud, then highlighted back up with Bleached Bone.

For paper, try Dheneb Stone washed with Gryphonne Sepia and then highlight back up with Bleached Bone and Skull White

and I'll just throw this in. For wings, I basecoat with Astronomicon Grey, wash with Asurman Blue, then highlight with Skull White.
