How to begin this....
Not sure really.
What do you think will happen when the Void Dragon is woken up? Will the imperium fall? How about the Outsider? is he really the Hive Mind? Put in your thoughts here! im curious about what people think about these events.
(For those that dont know, The void dragon is "Supposedly" the Machine spirit that the imperium is so fond of. in reality, the void dragon is a GOD.)
(the outsider (another god)...well, no1 is sure what happened to him, but rumours are that he IS the hive mind (tyranids). all we know is that he is sealed up somewhere.)

I think that when the void dragon wakes up he will take control of every machine in the Imperium and turn them against humanity to start a second age of strife.

that is probably what games workshop has intended. 5th Ed is supposed to be the turning point for the imperium. this should be really interesting!
Do you think that the outsider is actually the hive mind?

I think both entities are C'tan. It would therefore make sense to me for The Outsider to be the originator of the Tyranids. If you are an entity that thrives on the life force of other beings why not gather it together into one big lump for a feast rather than using Necrons to graze. As for the Void Dragon. some of the adeptus mechanicus might think it's their machine god but I think they have made a terrible mistake.
Sadly I don't think we will ever find out. Releasing either would change the background too far. Might lead to some interesting Necron army variants if they did though!

Cypher will been en route to Terra by way of Mars, when the Void Dragon wakes. Cypher will get rid of the Void Dragon, or perhaps whatever he wants to do with it. then, a huge number of chapters will show up and then kill Cypher. but they weren't supposed to until the DA shown up. DA get pissed off and attack the chapters that killed Cypher. second heresy. at the end of it all the chapters have been decimated, but when the inq declare the heretics (DA and friends) to be traitors, the emperor wakes! and that ends the fluff section.
Imperium divided, emperor woken, questioning of the inq's role into the politics of the galaxy. very grimdark.
thats what I hope happens but it wont.

Hmm, it's quite interesting to me that an awful lot of 40K fluff seems to come back to the Necrons..!
There's the origin of the Orks (created by the Old Ones), the origin of the Eldar (ditto), all Adeptus Mechanicus theology, possibly the tyranids, that mysterious Dyson Sphere...
The necrons are certainly the most mysterious race, leaving so much for the player to piece together... It's a bit like an alternative-reality game!

I actually think this would be a great Idea! But I do think maybe it should go a little like this...
Cypher arrives on mars just when the Void Dragon wakes up. He almost slays the beast when the Dragon picks him up and crushes him in it's jaws. The Fallen sense the death of the most powerful fallen and send a burst of energy directly towards the rock, with all the hate and anguish of the fallen, freeing Luther. Luther escapes, and heads into the Tower Of Angels. He comes back with with a elegant robe, and has claimed to been spoken to by the Primarch. He goes to Mars, stealing a thunderhawk. He pickes up and unsheathes the Sword Of the Lion, and slays the void dragon. This causes all the Machine spirits to die out, The Dark Angels are declared Traitors, and Luther goes to the tower to speak to The Lion.
That's all I got so far.

OOoooK.....You do realize that there is only 1 artifact that can kill a c'tan. and it is not in the imperiums hands right now. The other thing that can kill a c'tan is another C'tan. hope this clarifies you! (and if they do breach the necrodermis of the C'tan, the c'tan will evaporate and re-appear back at necrontier.)
People think nothing bad is going to happen to the imperium! but in GW own words, It is a dark time for the Imperium as the Age of Mankind comes to an end.

Whats the thing that can kill a C'Tan?
And besides, everybody knows that at the turn of M42, The Emperor will be re-incarnated, Ultra-MAN healed, the Khan released, Jonson re-apears, Russ makes a dynamic entry, Corax comes out of his emo closet, and Vulkan pops out of a volcano. Coincidentaly at the same time the Eye of terror explodes due to a meth lab explosion thanks to the Emprerors children. Thus heralding an age of peace..... HA, Fat chance. Thats the exact opposite of our favorite wargames Grimdark, spectrum. I wish they would advance the story, but as we all know, that wont EVER happen.

There is also Psykers, because (according to Lexicanum) C'tan cannot understand the warp to any degree, and are suceptible to it an its effects.

i have never heard of that. but do realize that the c'tan that you SEE is totally different of that of the actual C'tan. you SEE a big monster. what it is is INSIDE. which is invincible. they may not understand the warp, but good luck banishing some gas into the warp.

The only way to kill a C'tan is for another C'tan to attack it or by shooting with a black stone fortress. C'tan have so much control over reality that they just run away and heal. When any normal creature kills it they just destroy its shell, so it is weakened, without the necrodermis they aren't really in the same level of reality as us. Another C'tan can only kill it because they can change reality as fast as the other C'tan.
The warp affects C'tan because they are so strongly connected to this dimension the warp is their opposite and they can't exist in the same place. Instead of warping them it destroys them. A Psyker could destroy one but they would need to be extremely powerful (maybe more powerful then the emperor). Blackstone fortress work by tearing a huge hole into the warp which engulfs the C'tan.

i think the imperium launches some massive attack on the crons, weakoning the c'tan and crons alike, and then some space marine character (probably ultramarine or something) comes in to save the day.

Marneus Calgar will beat up the Void Dragon who will then commit suicide because he can never be as awesome as the Ultramarines.
Or perhaps the swarmlord will eat the poor C'tan. Hrm, or Mephiston will rip him apart with his awesome psychic powers...
So, if the Void Dragon is smart he will simply stay asleep.

Hmmm... Maybe the Void Dragon is actually using humans already or he could be being used as some sort of power source? I need to reread the mechanicum book. Seems to me that they go to the tomb of the Void Dragon and either of guarding it from the rest of the galaxy and or protecting the Void Dragon from the rest of the galaxy. as for the outsider it could be the tyranids but I thought he was a bit more of a nutter. At the same time are they tyrandis avoiding tomb worlds because the necrons have no biomass or for some other reason? Automatically Appended Next Post: Or maybe Chuck Norris awakens from his 30,000 year slumber and takes his rightful place yet again as the One True God Emperor! By this I mean he literally gets out of bed scratches himself and pushes the Emperor of the Golden Throne.

In Mechanicum the Emperah banished the Void Dragon to mars right? (possible because he knew it would create the Admech). The Emperah did not know about the heresy or that he'd "die". I think when the golden throne fails, the VD wakes up and nomnoms earth making the Admech the new power of humanity, effectively rendering the spess mahreens without logistical support, and tearing the imperium apart.
This makes the chapter specific codecies all the more relevant seeing as how they would obviously take sides one way or another.
