Hey all, quick question. The Warstore sells random grab bags of bitz, does anyone else do this? I need alot more SM junk for my conversions and I would like to see if I have other options.

They're fun. I've bought one each of the last couple years during the Thanksgiving sale. You do get some RANDOM stuff, but good stuff too. I got a few sets of termi legs and arms, some nob bodies, etc.

It's fun to open and explore. I'd grab one if you're already making an order, but wouldn't order it by itself. Though if you're hoping for a ton of super-useful marine bits, you're better off ordering them specifically.

I don't think I've seen anyone else sell bags of random bits. Sometimes on ebay people will sell their stuff.

K Thanks. I have bought about five of their grab bags. I have gotten more chaos than regular SM stuff but its pretty easy to shave off excess...usually looks okay. ha

I ordered one from them in addition to some other things. I got some cool stuff, like a storm shield and some dreadnought pieces, among other things. I also got half of a wraithlord's leg, which was nice.

I'd assume its made of the junk left over from selling the useful bits on sprues.

I thought so too, but I was surprised. Maybe it's actually random, and some blind person reaches into their stock and pulls out whatever he thinks is cool

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea if they sorted 40k bits from fantasy. I've got no need for elves and goblins but everything 40k would find a home in my box

I usually find some useful stuff in mine but always some junk too. I have 2 left halfs of the goblin teepee but no right half. Oh well...

Honestly, I'm on the fence about this. I got a mega grab bag last year, and it was sort of cool. I got a lot of cool bits, such as an ENTIRE IG sentinel (I don't play IG but I do love that one specific model). I also got most of a squad of genestealers, and lots of tyranid upgrades (also not a tyranid player, but cool).

The problem was, more then half my bits - maybe as much as 3/4 - were WHFB sprues, and not useful ones. What am I going to do with 6 left halves of a horse? All of a raptor mount except half of the head? A whole sprue of some kind of dwarves? A Whoel sprue of I don't know what, some kind of tree looking wood nymph things?

Obviously, the answer to this is to go into the swap shop, make a smaller package of your own WHFB grab bag, and try to trade it with a WHFB player who also got a grab bag and can't use the 40K bits. Is this a common situation? I don't think so, and I'm disinclined to do a lot of trading. However, if you are into trading, you'll like it 100%.

OK, I can't lie. I'm buying another one next year, giant pack of WHFB bits aside. I just wish they were separated.

Can't say I've ever seen this section of their site. Wonder what all the bits are from? Surely they don't build that many models with only the right side of a horse? And I find it hard to believe they just open perfectly good boxes of goods and dump them into a pot, then stir them around and repackage them. Then again, that sounds like hella fun...

I am always tempted to buy the pot off Bits & Kits. I might do it on pay day. I'm tryign to build a games table so any old bits coudl be good for terrain.
