3 squads with 5 MLs makes for a daunting opponent. Especially with Razorback transports with TW LCs.

They are a wonderful unit that can pump out a lot of Missile shots for real cheap. Also wonderfully scalable for different point levels.

And they still have 2 ccw and counter-charge so when you assault them they can fight with 3 attacks back.

For extra fun attach a wolf guard termie with a cyclone missile launcher to 'em.

I recently tabled an BA army mainly through the fire of my long fangs.

One of the best deals in the game, 115 points for 4 missle launchers that can split fire! Heck yes!

The SW codex as a whole is ridiculous, but that's for a different topic.

Long Fangs are pretty much better than Devastator Squads in almost every way, and with rocket launchers they can hurt both Mech and horde armies.

They are pretty durable against infiltrators and outflankers as well.
I saw a 5 man pack with a wolf-guard terminator get assaulted by 10 genestealers take no wounds (that was mainly luck i think) and then hit back and wipe the 'stealers out.

Yeah, that would be luck.

the odds of that happening (assuming best case naked stealers without a broodlord) are:

(1-2/3*(1/3*2/3+1/6))^30=(40/54)^30=0.000123023179

So 10 stealers will whiff once in 10,000 charges( this is probably higher due to allocating wounds to the terminator, but still).

they start with a CCW and bolt pistol. you MUST swap the bolt pistol for... (list of heavy weapons and points). So with 1 attack on the profile, you don't get 2 attacks/3 on the charge.

The Longfangs are very nice. They are cheaper than a regular Dev squad, and can split up fire. Not to mention the extra abilities that they get, they are ver very nice.

Agreed. Most versatile HS choice. Split fire is great if you want to mix another weapon in there. Enhanced senses is a useful ability and counterattack means they aren't total pushovers. Cheap, too! The only downside is that you can't buy extra bolter holders to soak wounds (though you can attach a naked WG).

I also love 6 man packs w/5 MLs in a Razorback. Park them in cover and rain hell while the RB shoots stuff. Sometimes I also roll a lascannon in there for some long range AP 2/instakill T4/AT.

Well let me put it this way: I don't play Space Wolves, but if I had 15 guys with Missile Launchers sitting around, I'd buy the codex and start immediately.

So, I suppose what we are saying is, YES, they are worth it.
