I wanted to give a shout out to GW for the amazing prize support they gave this year for the semi final ard boyz. I requested guard, and received today the following:

3 Leman Russ kits
3 Leman Russ Demolisher kits
6 Valks
3 Chimera's
5 boxes of cadians
1 command squad
1 manticore
3 basilik kits.

Over 1000 dollars worth of stuff by my count, and seeing as many have criticised their prize support in the past, I really have to say they out did themselves this year.

I just got my loot today too and looks like we got the exact same thing (I'm assuming you left out the 2 Cadian Heavy Weapons Teams boxes). About $1100 by my count, and around 2750 points without ANY upgrades, wargear, or even special weapons.

Yeah I got the same stuff... Its really not even a legal army with 4 heavy support choices or 8-9 transports for 5 units :p

Much better value than last year!

Yep GW gave some sweet stuff out today!

I asked for Blood Angels and got:
x2 Chaplains
Space Marines Commander
Command Squad
Drop Pod
Sanguinary guard
Assult termis
Land Raider Crusader
x2 Death Company
x3 Rhinos
x2 Razorbacks
x2 Tactical Squads
x2 Baal Predators
x3 Venerable Dreads
x2 Devastators

I'm Wondering if anyone asking for Blood Angels got the same thing.

Well thanks to GW, they have put on a sweet tournament so far (I'm very grateful for it) and I look foreword to the finals in Chicago!

DC's are assault marines

But yeah only 10 assault marines in a BA army. Oh well, got lots of other stuff so it's all good.

Definitely more interesting choices than I thought would be there. I was expecting "a little bit of this" and "a little bit of that"...

One of each unit from top to bottom until you hit 2,500...

Opps left out 2 boxes of Assault Marines.

Honestly assault marines or not a good prize package.

Was talking with a friend who won last year and asked for Blood Angels (yeah i know before they were good back in PDF days) and he got 4 Land raiders and Mephiston. So 4 models 1275 points of the 2500 army.

So it would appear that they actually looked around a bit and gave some good choices, personally i'm very excited about what they gave me, I see some cool possibilities with just the Baal and the Venerable Dread/Librarian Dreads. Only thing I was unhappy with was the 6 elite choices.

In regards to the guard I was surprised you guys didn't all get the 12 tank Lemon Russ boxes (or what ever number). I mean 6 Valkyries is great no matter how you cut it.

Yeah...prize support for finals is looking sketchy. Its never been a match for winning semi-finals.

I remember hearing something about last year's Finals prizes being big weapons...a sword, axe, and hammer? Good luck flying THAT home!

Flight Attendant: "Excuse me, sir. I'll have to ask you to check your...power axe?"
Winner: "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR HIS THRONE!"

But not a bad spread for an actual Nids army. Surprised they didn't throw any raveners in there though. And at least yours is a standard army with what looks like 6 troops, 2-3 elites, 2-3 heavy support, 1-2 fast attack, 1 HQ and the models to convert Terviogons (Carnies). Nothing there that you won't use in most nid armies.

That's a pretty solid Tyranid collection. Personally, I'd turn the 2 Trygons & 2 of the Carnifexes into 2 T-fexes & 2 Tervigons, but it's pretty playable as-is.

Didn't know I was bitching about it or said anything about it. I just posted what I got, its the only army I don't have now so that was my pick.

though being short handed cash wise to some others is kind of annoying.

Hes not bitching.. If you got 700$ and someone else got 1100$ for the same prize I imagine youd be annoyed too..

Always choose guard imo for pure bang for the buck.. Vehicles are absurd in cost yet low in points

What's to complain about? Some armies cost more than others to collect, we all know that. That's why they say you get a 2500 point army, not $1000 worth of GW stuff.

The amount that was given out for all armies is amazing. I am struggling to get enough to play a 2000 point game (new player) and would of loved to have any of those list. Congrats to all the winners.

I chose Orks.

Ghas
10 Meganobz
2 boxes of nobz
8 boxes of killa kans (24 kans)
4 battle wagons
4 battle forces (12 bikes, 80 boyz, and 4 truks)

I'm going to have to do some kind of horse trading with those last 5 boxes of kans that I can only use in Apoc, but I have a great solid base for an ork army now.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

2 moster armies actually. I can go battle wagon rush or kan wall, but not at the same time. The only thing I don't have is lootas and burnas, and honestly I think it's best if I learn to play orks without them before including any in my army. Lootas are a great unit, and are incredibly easy to use if a player already has a solid sense of target priority. Winning games through use of target priority skills that I feel I have already developed won't help me get any better with a new non MEQ army, so I think what I have right now is perfect for my level of experience with orks.

The prizes are/were awesome. I gave it my best shot but got hammered in the prelims by a Leaf Blower with HOT dice.
