Nice idea, although the head does look too small for his body.

Nice model, I'd like to see it painted, though valk, I have to disagree, if anything the head is too big!

Also, slightly off topic but does anyone notice how the telion model's right arm dosn't quite fit, leaving the arm guard jutting out? Your model shows this but you've built it well so it is quite a subtle "jut".

I did my Telion with a Cadian respirator head, looks great as well.

Yeah the arm is a terrible fit. Took me a while to file the arm and guard so that they fit snugly. To be honest I think GW just make multi-part metal models to annoy us...this could easily have been cast as a complete figure. That said, I used the Sgt's head for one of my Terminators.

As for the respirator heads they are spot on size wise. The head I used was just slightly bigger than the Sgt's head (which it would be if wearing a respirator). Also, anatomically speaking a rough judgement of head size can be determined by the size of an individuals hands. If you were to put your hand up to your face and spread your fingers your head would roughly be a third bigger than your hand.

I used this rough guide with this model too.

No way is this true. I tried and my hand is amost as big as my face, I mean 85-90% of my face. I really don't get that, especially because I have a big head.

Very cool. A whole scout squad like that would look awesome, as long as it didn't somehow interfere with the "we have no chins" anatomy the plastic scouts have going.

Very true, GW just do not seem to be able to produce a full decent Marine scout in plastic. The bodies are ok but the arms lack detail compared to full power armoured Marines, and those heads, Ughhhh...it's the main reason I decided to get rid of those abominations and replace them with the respirators.

The sniper scouts are a bit better though the plastic Sgt's pose leaves a lot to be desired.

Anyway, here are my two small scout squads. There are 12 models in total, 2 Sgt's, 2 Heavy weapons and 8 regular scouts. I can either field 2 seperate 6 man squads or leave out a Sgt and a heavy weapon and have a full 10 man squad.

Judge for yourself whether the heads look right or not...I think they look pretty cool.

Heh. Its always weird to see different heads to those normally on the model

Some paint should clear that up though. They certainly look good so far. Is there something you can do with the pipes around their necks. It looks a bit redundant, considering they are all wearing respirators. Armoured collar maybe?

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I'm not really sure what purpose the pipes serve even with the regular heads. Maybe it's supposed to be some kind of re-breather rig for submerged infiltrations. I'm not too worried to be honest because if they were going to submerge they'd need to ditch the repirators first anyway and therefore the piping would still need to be in place.

I disagree.

Cool idea.

Question: what are your plans for the scout heads with the night vision goggles? I need some for some IG vets...

would the Elysian Respirator be good for an Adeptus Atirbtue?
Also why no shotguns?

Doing a kit bash. I'm pretty good at coming up with ideas for units.
And I love shotguns especially against a nurgle player
