The armor is Shining Gold with a Gryphonne Sepia wash, highlighted with mithril Silver
The 'snow' is baking soda.

Constructive Criticism or painting tips welcome.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Sword is Chaos Black, then Ultramarines blue, regal blue on top of that, then a thin line of ice blue, with a thinner line of skull white on top of that.

its hard to tell from the lighting but it like it could use a couple more coats of gryphonne.

Hmm, will do. And yes, the lighting is bad, I'll take a better picture this weekend.

I'd have done the armour tin bitz first then put the gold and gryphonne wash on so the armour looked more like this, but it looks pretty good

That axe would look amazing if you added steaks of a lighter/darker red, then white.
And I'll try that on my next gold model.

But now everyone can see his face and know who he is!!!! The head does seem a bit off though your neck is too long, the chin should almost be covered by collar on the armor.

I'll look into that

Might just be washed out in these photos, but the wings, hair, and halo look rather flat, to me. Is there any shading on those? If not, I'd recommend it. In general, it's a solid piece. I'd field it with no complaints.

i'd also recommend some shading or washes on the armor joints/ribs and wing feathers. also, aren't all sanguinors helmetless? i don't think the model comes with a helmet. good job with the power sword.

It is his helmet, i just painted it like a face. And I need a better wash than gryphoinne Sepia for a wash for the wings. And thanks.

Not A bad result, tho I prefer the Sanquinor with helmet personally.

I watered down Space Wolves Grey to wash the wings of my Sanguinary Guard, followed by a white drybrush for texture, might that work for you ?

Thinned badab black wash will work, and you can touch up the high points of the wings afterwards with white.

It looks good!

My only suggestion, and it seems you don't want to, would be to paint the face like the armour, it looks decidedly odd painted to resemble a real face.

I think with my painting abilities, it will look wierd with a gold 'face.' I may paint it to see, and I'll post pictures.
