Interesting to finally see this stuff. Skaven and HE just don't have alot of appeal for me. The models do look great though.

Not exaclty what I need for my Yakuza-style Skaven, but it'd be a nice start (and then I can sell the HE models to help make up for it). A pity I won't be able to afford it any time soon :(

I sold off my HE and don't intend to start another army but hopefully this means some better sculpts coming for the Ulthuan dandies.

This statement... so much contradiction... hard to understand...

Anyway, both the Skaven and High Elf models are amazing!

And, as hard as it is for me to beleive, the Skaven stuff actually looks MORE amazing the the Elves!

Of course, I still hate Skaven with a passion, but, at least there will be some nice, new models to (attempt to) kill!

Errr... what? It's not THAT hard to understand, even if it's a run-on sentence.

1: They sold their HE.
2: They don't intend to start another army.
3: They hope this means HE gets better sculpts even if they don't intend to buy them.

I agree with this list, with one exception- I definitely did not see a doom-flayer when I saw the contents at the Bunker today. I did see a handler for the 2 rat ogres, so perhaps someone mistook that for it? I don't see that in your list.

The models look great, and I got some pics of them, now if I could just get them off my dam phone . Going to get a new sd card reader tomorrow...

Okay
So know we know what is in the new starter set, what will be in the next one for the 9th edition rulebook?

I would like to see Woodies and Beastmen.
Would definitely buy some.

Hear, hear, Chibi . Although these models are excellent enough to get me interested, even for armies I don't play!

I know what you mean RiTides

Thankfully I am self disciplined enough NOT to get some.
Even if the discipline is enforced by an already overstretched hobby budget rather than self restraint!

Is it me, or is Warseer down? Did they get in trouble for posting pics?

OMG! Quick! hide the pics before the GW Lawyer Nazis raid the joint!

Probably coincidence Kas
Sorry, but even so, I still find GW's clandestine behaviour ridiculous.

It's not ridiculous at all... they have a long, long history of doing things that keep people from wanting to buy miniatures...

Wow, that Griffon is the hotness. I've got a bad habit of buying anything that looks cool, and as I need to boost my HE army up for 8th edition and I want to start a Skaven army, this is going to be a great deal for me.

I would not touch anything from warseer with chuck norris, it is that untrustworthy, untill GW themselves state that they are what is in the Island of Blood, it didn't happen.
For all we know, they are models that are are updating the HE and Skaven Ranges in october and some time after respectivley.

I'm pretty sure people have seen the models in person and noted that the models we've been seeing are the snap-on type models typically associated with the starter sets.

Also, despite its foibles, Warseer has several members who are quite reliable when it comes to confirming/denying rumors.

Edited for grammatical correctness.

Can't comment on the veracity of folks on another websites, but like Jin was under the impression it was one piece/snap fit minis that was under discussion. Chaps here on Dakka have seen them in the flesh.

Why would the stores be preparing minis due for release after the starter set? (if I understand it correctly)

Just noticed the above, but yes- having seen the models in person, they are the snap-on / mostly one-piece models with just the arm separate type that come in starter sets. They still look fantastic, though!
