So, I haven't been painting as often as I might, since I have other hobbies that are time-intensive, but hey! I wanna show off what I've got uploaded thus far anyway.

Who Doesn't have one of these hanging around? Sure, she ain't 100% complete yet, but I'm still happy with it.

This is indicative of the level of detail that I put towards All of my troops. even the nameless guys who I label as 4th squad, 2nd plt, etc.

Gaunt, with a bunch of armless guys running around.
Okay, I know, bad form but hell, I wanna be able to detail these guys!

Here's an early collection of painted models. the Hellhound on the left was the first model I painted, and subsequently modified via copious GS and drybrushing/washing.
Barely visible here is the Sister of Battle in there, who got her hair restyled care of some balding guy with too much time, a little GS and a scrapped xacto.

Speaking of Sister Antoinette, here she is.

Thoughts, Opinions and Gripes are welcome, and I'll add a response in about a week with some updated models.

Snap, and I'm all out of primer :/
hahah, thank you Rick.
and good tip, Paratus, I hadn't thought about how to incorporate a rusty look just yet.
That ought to do the trick just nicely, especially if I whip up a blazing orange wash and go over the plating seams.

Is there a link to any sure-fire mud caking methods that actually looks wet and natural?

Yeah, I'm with you, I can never find time to do more than a little work on my Baneblade. Your work is very good, can we get some more shots of the tanks?

Mmmh, Next week with any luck. I'll finish up one of my Bassies and another Chimera, too in that case, Granesh.

The main hold-up with my Baneblade is the fueltanks.
For some odd reason, I believe that all Promethium tanks HAVE to be Sunburst Yellow, which entails alot of constantly going back and repainting, even with a good Foundation paint.

.....Granesh? is that avatar pic your own work? Holy Jebus, that beard's Awesome.

I actually kind of like the reverse-cadian look. At some point you'll probably want to go back and highlight all that cloth, but until then it definitely looks fit for the tabletop.

Speaking of touch-ups, yeah.
I had even gone through the hassle of salvaging a partial pot of Cadian green and mixing in some Skull White for a lighter pigment, but then vacation with the woman hit

On the other hand, a couple of pieces that I can't believe that I forgot in the OP.

A definite kitbash on my part, small amount of resculpting in the arm, alot of cutting too.

aaand a couple other kitbashes.

The one on the left is going to be the Company Command Squad's vehicle, although I've yet to get a Chimera hull for it. Plasticard and HMWV bits FTW!
The piece on the right, is going to be one of three specialized Chimeras for my Stormtrooper squads, each of which will have a bank of 3 H. Bolters across the front, under the snatched Rhino windshield assy. pix of this mod will be supplied either Monday or Tuesday.
No in-play bonuses, aside from just being modified.

Each'er in their own respective galleries albeit it's a small selection.

Edited for improper image linking.

Needs more Tentacle Pink.
Otherwise great.

p.s. - Tentacle Pink.

Hmm, and where would that get applied, Nightbringer?
About the only place I can think of is skintone touchups, but I haven't even looked at what tentacle pink looks like.

Although, I've been considering making a heretical Cloister of SoBs with the cliche'd ally of Slaanesh daemons, for a counts-as-CSM army but only after perfecting some MPP sculpts of my own.

I would definitely use such colours for That particular project.

Nice work. I'd be more than happy to play against an army that someone put this amount of effort into. Keep up the great work!

I know the feeling, Khan.
I've gone to the local(well, the Fairbanks) comic shop and
for their selection of models RIGHT THERE(everything short of Forgeworld stuff.), the draw and measure of many hobbyists there is strictly play-related, with very little
attention paid to painting and modelling.

...

I take that back.
the CSM players take their paint schemes very seriously with good effects, and a few Tau players who quite rightly love anime.
the rest though make me sad
Darn, and I thought I was gonna get a little more relaxation time on monday and tuesday! lol, silly me!

Honest, pics by Tuesday or my name is Horus.

Wow Zath, I'm the same way with my fuel tanks...they all have to be yellow, they all are on my Flamers, and they will be with my Baneblade. I find that using Iyanden Darksun as a base, then layering up by mixing Sunburst Yellow in makes the yellow stand out more AND go on better! The wheeled Chimera should be interesting too, I'll love to see how that turns out!
As for my Avatar, yeah, that's my Company Commander, made using the FW Chimera Commander model and adding a pair of legs. I have some more pictures of him in my gallery and my blog if you wanna see more. I actually got the model because I liked the beard so much!

Only on the models' surface. Don't bother trying to apply it internally, it's more trouble than it's worth.

FINALLY someone else crazy enough to leave the arms off of your Cadians prior to painting the body. I do that myself and I'm pretty sure it tacks on another 10-20mins per model but I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing that those bits under his arm aren't painted.

Looking good so far, I particularly like Cpl Grevious (?), he looks awesome!

I really like what you have done with the front of that chimera. Makes it look a much more feasibly realistic vehicle.

I leave the left arm attached while painting the body then put it on after. The front is then paintable and you only have one arm to swiftly glue on. This could shave maybe 5 mins off your painting time

I think I was channeling some sort of World War 2 tank when I started on the Chimera, and since you said feasibly realistic, now you've got me thinking about how to apply reactive armor
Might have to try the left arm idea some time, but I think the reason I haven't is how difficult it is to get the wrist lined up wth the hand on the rifle in most cases.
Usually, I drill+pin the wrist and hand before painting so that I can adjust as needed,as well as force the plastic to do what I want instead of what it wants.
