Here's another question, since my army is going to be fully mobile, what would be better. Sticking with the air transports or should I do ground transports?

I'd say stick with air. With how overgrown the local fauna is ground transports will have a great deal of trouble moving around. You would need vehicles that pretty much ignore the terrain (like my Knights), such as Land Raiders or Air transports.

I'm bringing a Spartan,land raiders and some vindicators for sure. In part as bulldozers. Codex wise every of rhino and up can have a small dozer blade.

I probably won't have access to relic vehicles since the Astral Claws were founded post-heresy. Does anyone know if stormravens were around at the time of the Badab war?

Yeah, they were. Nothing really says that they weren't.

Not sure what relics I'm bringing. I have more leeway than some though as first founding chapter with one successor.

Who's to say the Red Corsairs haven't made a deal with the Dark Mechanicum for some relic vehicles? One or two would be fine. I plan on having a Typhon in my warband (and maybe a Fire Raptor)

I had an idea that I combine that kind of structure with Chaos people like Sorcerers and Lords and what not

Well, I'm not GMing, but I can't see how double sized Tactical Squads would affect rolling or plot that much?
