I am sure most have looked at the rumors for the DE dex. Usually by this point most of the rumors for a dex are about 90% true. Some will say blah blah there just rumors but lets be honest with each other if you have been around for at least a year you'll notice the rumor patterns for dexs and this one is prolly true. Now I am not at all crying cheese as well this doesn't effect me at all.

It does seem that there basic troop choice as well as many other weapon options will have there weapons be poisoned. It also looks like the strength of said weapons will ether be very low or just str x to avoid getting rerolls on everything. With there weapons being poisoned this really doesn't effect much. When shooting at marines they are the same as bolters when they shoot at GEQ they are shooting lasguns. Always gunna wound on a 4+ but they become really strong when it comes to shooting at MCs. Now when they are shooting at a fex or hive tyrant they are shooting multi lasers or not better. It seems a bit much that there basic troop choice is going to be able to hit MCs on a 4+.

This leaves me with the feeling the DE is going to have a very very good advantage against nids. With 40k sometimes being a game of rock paper scissors at times DE will always be scissors and nids will always be paper. When these to meet each other.

Can't you see we have been abandoned? Forget matters of duty and honor to the emperor this is now a matter of pride.

So they can wound a large creature? i see nothing wrong.
It simply makes up for thier fragile stats.
Lets face it, most creatures will shake the shots off with a 2/3+ save anyway, then chew through the unit.

Also, dont forget they dont have alot of range.
So whatever you shoot will be running into you afterwards.

In all honesty, its just another one of those things at the moment where everyone cries broken, only to find it plays out average in a game.
So you gain an advantage against nids? you also suffer when playing the weaker armies, its a nice balance.

So swarm them with a lot of smaller bugs instead?

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Melissia has it.

Nids have cheap shield units that will be able to take down DE in combat, they also have the perks of being spawned.

All in all, nids allways shield MC's from las/plas/melt fire anyway, so shielding them in a game is pretty much a standard thing.

The only army poisoned weapons will hurt is nids and daemons and its not like we really needed buffs against those guys. Nids can be nasty but daemons are a joke of an army, its nice that we are getting some fluff put into our weapons but meh not really game changing at all.

Pretty much the way of it. I like the idea of poisoned stuff as standard for Dark Eldar. It makes lots of sense for the army.

Game wise, it's a bit of a change for some of the bigger bugs and monsters, but that's about it. The only army I see it having a huge effect on is something like Deathguard and even then, it just means that there's another army you see once in a while that shoots them like Tau.

That's assuming the standard Dark Eldar guns will wound on 4's though. If they turn out to wound on 5's, folks will laugh. If they turn out to wound on 3's, well the internet shall be abuzz for weeks without a doubt.

To me the entire army having poison weapons is justified, DE want prisoners not corpses.

That said, poison weapons with low or X str don't touch armor so mech up. Though DE will have anti-armor stuff its just how eldar as a whole work. They have very specific roles for their units.

The reported weapons profiles are as follows from Warseer.

All poisons are 4+
Splinter Rifle 24" SX, AP5, Rapid Fire, Poisoned.
Splinter Carbine 18" SX, AP5, Assault 3, Poisoned.
Splinter Cannon 36" SX, AP5, Assault 4, or Heavy 6 Poisoned.
Spllinter Pods are an underslung weapon for the Hellions, essentially similar to the carbine.

Not exactly short ranged other than the carbine. I am more worried about their characters. I have a bad feeling we are going to see them not only out shoot but also out CC nids due to the incrementing wounds and power rumors as they cause deaths. We could have them rampage through our screens like a BA dreadnaught with dual blood claws and then roll into our big stuff all buffed up.

We might just have another SW type army coming out against us as nid players. There is not much you can do about it.
